Browse By Album Art?/Config for Iguidance
Hello,
I'm new to RR after using CF for quite a while. This great CF-like skin just made it too tempting. I have read all the posts, but am still having trouble with two things.
Browse Album Art
I can't seem to browse by album art. I have all my mp3s organized in the following directory structure:
F:\genre\artist\album\songs
I have placed album art in a file called folder.jpg in each album folder in the same folder where the songs are located. In CF, this would allow me to browse all my albums by album cover. After reading the relevant RR posts, it seems I should be able to do this in RR as well. Unfortunately, when I'm browsing albums in album view, all that shows is the generic folder for each album rather than the album art. (See attached). Does RR even allow me to browse all my album covers? If so, any idea what I might be doing wrong?
IGuidance
I can't get IG going in RR with this skin. Whenever I hit the GPS button, nothing happens. I have chosen IG in the RR config file without success. I have also tried entering the path in exectbl.ini without success. (See attached). Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

kbreeden, try another skin and see if iGuidance works. If it doesn't, then it's not a skin-specific issue and there's something wrong with your config.
Your RR config doesn't look like mine, either. Try selecting "External" instead of "iGuidance."

Yes, I'm using the latest release that was made available a couple of days ago. Skipper has redesigned the configuration interface. I'm just getting started with RR so I figured I would use the newest version. I'll try resetting the ini files manually and also try with a different skin to eliminate the skin as a problem, though I think several people are successfully using the blue CF skin with IG.
Anyone have any ideas on the album art issue?

I'm using the CFX skin with IG. In rrconfig.exe i'm setting it to external for the GPS. Note, I'm also using IGMOD. IGMOD works well for this skin. For full screen I created my own skin without the left navigation bar. This allows more of IG to be shown and I also added audio player controls to it. If you're interested in the full screen skin, let me know and I'll send it your way.

Modified External GPS Full Skin for IG
Since more than one person was interested, I've provided a link to the rar with the files for the external_gps_full.skin that I created based on proximo's CF style blue.
Note, there are no GPS controls on the skin itself. So, you'll want to use IGMod. The only controls on this skin are for audio with some GPS labels as well...
Enjoy...

Well I set GPS to external and IG with IGMod embeds beautifully in RR. The only problem is that my GPS receiver is not recognized when in RR. If I exit RR and load IGMod the reciever is recognized fine. I have correctly set my GPS port in RRconfig.
Interestingly, RR correctly displays my speed even though IG doesn't recognize my receiver. I assume this can only be done via GPS; therefore, this suggests to me that when in RR some other program is grabbing my GPS receiver. I am using no programs other than RR, the CFX skin, IGMod and IG. Any ideas what might be going on?

Okay, forgot to mention that. What I use to get around this is xport3. Search the forums for it. It's written by someone here in the groups (think his username is "Curiosity"). Xport3 splits the com port that your GPS uses. So, you can set one port for iGuidance and one port for RR. This will provide the info from your GPS receiver to both RR and iGuidance.
Hope this helps.

Okay, I didn't realize RR used its own port. It might be nice if that could be disabled, but if Xport does the trick great.

RR actually uses the port designated in the rrconfig.exe. On a future release I believe the mappointport will be eliminated and only gpsport will be used (both of these are specified in rr.ini). Once that is implemented, this shouldn't be an issue anymore.
