Ok I tried all the links on the main page and also tried with my Blackberry.. all returned a 404 error.

Can someone who has the new editor please post a link? I would be in your debt!

Thanks

Not positive this isn't known but if you make a new skin and go into virtual editor, it brings up the virtual editor from the last skin you were in when I would expect it to load:

MEDIACAR Skin
MEDIACAR Loading Skin
loading.bmp,loading.bmp,loading.bmp,loading.bmp

END

If I go back to the skin and add a blank button, virtual editor will now load:

MEDIACAR Skin
MEDIACAR Loading Skin
loading.bmp,loading.bmp,loading.bmp,loading.bmp
B,104,282,20,20,,

END

Again, it's a nit but I thought I'd point it out in case you were a perfectionist. (I'm in the 20 beta fyi)

They also released it with Internet Explorer . Not something I would model your coding standards by.

Yup i know. JohnWPB PM'd me a couple days ago before Guino released his PNG Suport to let me know about it. I was thinking while i was at it i could just convert the whole Editor to .Net. But that might take some time to do. It did take Guino a couple months to put the GDI+ support in for PNG. And it seems like guino has alot more free time then i do.

I will see what i can do to get PNG support into the Editor. I guess i will stay up late tonight and see how hard it will be.

i tried compiling it with .net. with my limited programming knowledge it was a no go without changing a good portion of the program.

and i dont have the know how or the time to learn it.

Yah it might not be that hard to do. I tried as well and found it to have a terible converting tool. I think if i re-create each module Possibly starting with the forms. That it would only take a month or so to do

a MONTH!

Heheheh Understandable. I save out both JPG's and PNG's from Photoshop into the skin folder. Then I use a macro recording and playback tool, that swaps out the PNG for JPG when I need to edit something visually in the skin editor! Then when I package up the skin, I need to remove all the JPG's. Hey, Its a workaround at least!

Not a bad workaround at that. hmmm. Maybe a quick generic fix would be to auto convert png to jpg for editor only. Of course you would loose transparency. I dont think that would be to hard to do......Actually I may have a way already that would be easier. I think I can get PNG into the editor without transparency without converting to jpg for each file. I could convert PNG to BMP into memory. I think thats almost what guino is doing with the GDI+. I just need some more time to read through all his code To see hwo the transparency works. His code is full screen and i need a zoomable area to display the image. It will just take some time to catch up to RR.

method im using. Take my old jpgs and place them in the same folder.

use ultraedit and create a group/project containing all the skin files. then do a quick replace-all of jpg to png macro.

It's like 3 steps to do it to all the files, and I can reverse it just as quickly.

would be nice if i could do it via batchfiles

Okay so you can throw away your auto scripts. RRSkinEditor supports PNG files now. check the first post for the updated link. Version 0.3.024 I hope you like it. It took me days of programming to get this to work. You know, one day I searched the internet. Next day I tried some opensource code, today I spent 30 minutes adding it. Maybe I will spend another 30 minutes to get it to show transparency.

Let me know if there are problems. Your welcome.
