inspired a little by windows longhorn/vista... well the black glassy bits anyway. i wanted to keep it clean, functional, and somewhat minimal.
to toggle between gps small and gps big, just press the gps button again. simple huh.
visualisations at the moment are on permanently (double pipe in .skin files) to turn off you will have to edit the .skins. sorry, will try and tidy this up for final release. there isnt much work to do to disable visu's and then just have it triggered as per normal by the visu button. i just wanted to have them on all the time so thats the way i did it.... you can toggle between small visu and big visu by pressing.. you guessed it.. the visuals button on the music screen!
the visu avs preset used in the screen shots is included in the .rar package.
required fonts are included too.. but that whole top area is free of indicators or any other graphics so it can be customised easily just by changing label codes in the .skin
thats about it. let me know if it works
done:
gps (mapmonkey)
music
video
phoco
cdrip
www
still to do:
radio
dvd (powerdvd)
weather
app launcher
night version
home
shutdown
gps
gps big
music with small vis
music with large vis
browse music
mixer
video
osk
phoco
call in/out
www
cdrip
downloadaeroBeta
tim.

soon... next weekend.. 70% of the artwork is done, just need to .jpg it and modify my .skin files and it'll be ready. doing a night version too with a carbon fiber background (thanks to craigus for his carbon fiber bits!)
i havent tried it in the car yet so i'll give it a test drive today and see if it needs any major modifications too. (im not sure the button labels are big enough to see easily while driving - but they look so much neater when they are a little bit smaller..)
still to do are:
CDRip
DVD
Weather
Radio
but the nature of the layout makes it quick to add extra skins.. just change some button labels, move some up and down buttons.. voila new page!
thanks for the comments
edit:
im looking for a font like this: (its called dot matrix two extended)
cant find it anywhere to download (without having to pay $50 for it!) might have to make it myself. fun fun fun.

yeh i'd already thought of the GPS indicator on the button, as well as a track progress indicator on top of the music button.. dont want it to get too messy though.. its meant to be a clean skin!

Like it! One of the cleanest and do not push on a brains :-) Good sample of "industrial style" interface design! Simple and easy to understand.

and done. well kinda.. need guino to write the code to let me do it easily without flash... pleeease guino? but the provision is there for it. (i mean number of satellites locked)
i removed the small phoco connection and charge indicators (The indicators on the right hand end of the phone button), as its kinda obvious if your phone is connected - the signal and battery will show up, and you know if ur phone is on charge as you would have just plugged it in. and i needed more room on the button - fitted the battery and signal status onto one line... also added a volume slider over the volume buttons...
oh and theres two indicators on the music button - one for repeat, one for random..
i hope it doesnt look too messy....
even though all the indicators are small, they are surprisingly easy to see and interpret while driving.
