For Labels.. always make sure you have the label you want to show in flash in your .skin file.. ie..

L,0,0,0,0,,,,,,"TRACKNAME",

then to display it in flash, just stick a text label in and make it dynamic and put the variable name in it to match the label.. ie TRACKNAME

hope this helps

This helps a great deal.....good looking out...one more question..... can playlists and folder lists be controled by the swi/swf like the label and button funtions???? the reason i ask is ...for example if i wanted a flash effect to play before loading the audio browser skin, i would not like for the playlist or directory list to appear before the animation was complete....hope this makes sence.....same question for sliders, etc

CDR i just remembered a great optimization for flash animations
step1
create the animation
step2
make a new movie the same size of the animation
Step3
copy the animation into the new movie
step4
export the animation as a gif
Step 5
make the gif its own movie
step6
in the last frame of the gif call the next function (showing the flash buttons)
step7
(flash buttons are loaded) it plays just like it did before

if flash plays a gif vs redrawing vectors constantly it will take up less cpu

if you were to do this with the movie im sure it would cut down on the cpu usage if you dont know what i mean i can take a look at what uve done and do it for you let me know

cheers for that info.. I want to do something on the main menu page..

I have been busy adding code to enable me to use a flash playlist. .seems to be working well, I have also made it dynamic.. so you can chang ethe colour to be anyting you want just by changing a single line in a file..

ie.
&menucolour=077cce&

I will be writing a VB app which will allow you to change the colour from within the skin and also reload it.. :-)

below is a nearly finished audio skin, just want to add a dynamic menu like i did in MC2.0

can we have a "light" version without the ever changing color bars and such ? I love the flash effects, but I'd hope it to run a bit smoother without the large amounts of graphics changing.. the speed of the sliding controls and such is acceptable.

I scrapped the changing colours, the basic back colour doesnt change in real time..as u said took too much cpu power, so it just sets its colour by reading from the text file now and stays that colour. I will finish off the audio one tonight and make a start on the dir list.

Wow, this looks great. I can't wait for more updates and screens (SIRIUS PLEASE!!!)

I had been teaching myself photoshop b/c I liked but didn't love any of the skins that are out there now, but this might just make me quit and wait.

Edit: just went and clicked through your adsense links...

Do you mean it's going to be only one colour?

Just downloaded the audio screen demo. I don't know if it's my machine or what but it takes FOREVER to do anything (bring up menu, go through songs, etc).

WOW That preview looks great!!!

I can confirm it work great on my home PC, but on the M10k, I don't know it will run this smooth...

CdR, I'd have a small request. Maybe we could choose between the album art picture (I don't really have that many of those...) and a spectrum analalyzer or a visualization plugin...what do you think?

Hi m8, the problem with any vis that is sits ontop of the flash, so the volume slider wouldnt work, and this defo cause lag, I have tried a small vis and this was the same.. saying this I will be putting a vis button on the main screen. The best I can offer is a loadable image say of your car logo / car that will show when a album image isnt there.

I spent last night writing a little VB app, this is going to be embedded in this skin, which will enable you to change the skin colour on the fly.. so if you want a diff colour you just goto settings, pick your colour and click SAVE, this then updates a txt file and also sends the command to RR to reload its skin.. it works great :-)

now just to do the rest of the skins.. :-)
