Skin Release: "MAS"

Update 06-05-06: See post #14 to view new config screen and #15 to check out the new menu let me know what you think.

This is a earliy beta release of the "Mustang Audio System"

Name: screen_1.jpg
Views: 3735
Size: 52.6 KB

This skin is fully functional (gps, phoco, radio, xm, sirius, cd [yes cd], audio, and many more). Thanks to b8bboi for his work on the CFX skin which was adapted from Proximo's CF skin. All the screens I have not been able to make yet are replaced with CFX screens for now. I do plan on making MAS versions of all the CFX screens as I get the time. Keep checking back here for updates and new screens.

Features:

-This skin is based on the stock HU of an '05-'06 mustang gt.

-Full cd support. A seperate screen just for playing cd's. This skin will remember you place on your curent playlist and restore it when you are done listening to your cd.

-If you have the CDMonitor app included with this skin running it will also switch to the cd screen automatically when you insert a cd.

-A complete playlist editor. Add and remove songs easily and save them with a click.

-Album Browser for quick load of your favorite ripped music. (NOTE: you must have the latest version of RR for all the album art to display correctly.)

-Audio Player with Visualizations window.

TODO List:

-The Configure screen needs to be finished to allow people to download this
skin go to the config screen and then start listening to music.

-The menus for various options need to be intergrated into the skin like the exit menu is to improve the apearance of the skin.

-First screen on my list to complete is the gps screen.

-Second screen will be the Radio.

Downloads:

Mustang Audio System core skin components

Install:

-This has to be the most important part!! Make SURE that you are using the latest version of Road Runner.

-First things first if you want to have your cd play automatically when you insert it you either need to run the CDMonitor Program in the CD Drive Monitor folder first or visit this thread to see how to do it using windows. The command you will need to send using windows or the cd drive monitor app is "CD". The cd drive monitor program has a full help file with it on the menu bar.

-You will need to check all your paths there are many places in which secific file paths are used these all need to be set for your particular system. The 3 main places where paths need to be changed are the ExecTBl.ini. Here you need to change the path to the location of the load cd bat files and also your cd drive letter. Details in the ExecTBL.ini file itself. The LOADCD and UNLOADCD bat files them selves also need to be changed simply right click each bat file and select EDIT once the file is open edit the paths you need to edit for your system and save them. Last is the CD Drive Monitor app if you are using it needs to be set up. Please refer to the help menu in the program.

Please Let me know of any bugs visual errors or other problems.

Looking good! I really like this skin. Can't wait to see what else you'll do with it.

Only have one problem with it so far...my playlist browser has all the text in the left window moved over to the right.

You need a SD Definition in your skin. Then you can align the list right left centered or thumbnails.

/, (SD) Directory List Properties -- (May be Extended later)
/,
/, a Disp w h Path
/, -- ---- ---- ---- ----
SD,AA,MODE,ICOW,ICOH[,PATH]

The above defines extra propperties for the folder List on the current skin.
AA is the Alignment of the Directory List (00=Left, 01=Right, 02=Center).
Disp Mode sets the mode of display (00=Normal List, 01=Thumb Preview Icon List, 02=Thumb Preview Icons).
ICOW defines the Width of the Icon to display on display modes 1 and 2.
ICOH defines the Height of the Icon to display on display modes 1 and 2.
PATH defines the Directory/Folder location to display initially (OPTIONAL). If not present the path from the previous screen is used.

@MGD: you should never be sorry for trying to help

There was a bug with right and center list alignments on 5-2 .. it should be fixed on the test version (link on release thread). I'm really just working on one last feature to release it later in the week.

Clean skin, but I personally dont like any of the fonts that are being used, except maybe for the small lcd area...

The buttons look too Times-new-roman for my taste, and the music lists dont show enough text per line...

just my opinion though

@RoyN Thanks for the comments this is exactly the kind of input I am looking for from users. The skin is purpose built for the '05-'06 mustang gt and if you don't own one you probably won't like it. I will look into the playlist though mabye change to a different font or make the current font smaller to try and get more data in the window.

@MGD I hope I didn't put you off with my quick and short reply I was in a rush when I replied and ment nothing by it. Thanks for trying to assist a fellow member.

No prob. I always run the newest test version of RR. Never came across that problem.

Well, still hard at work on this skin I have completed the Config screen so you now don't have to edit any files just go to the config screen first to set everything for the skin up. I will update the files when I get home from work in 3 weeks as I am unable to upload the files from here.

I have been toying with the idea of removing the menu screen from my skin all together. Now just here me out, the darn thing just doesn't seem to fit right in the skeam of things within the skin so I came up with this.

The skin will start in this screen.

Name: screen_16.jpg
Views: 2648
Size: 106.7 KB

When you press the menu button you will see this instead of going to the menu screen.

Name: screen_17.jpg
Views: 2604
Size: 110.4 KB

Pressing one of the buttons above rolls out another menu with more options.

Name: screen_18.jpg
Views: 2518
Size: 109.4 KB

The current pics posted are a bit rough around the edges. I will clean this up for sure before releasing it but I want to know what think. Chime in everybody. Do you think I am nuts or do you agree this would be nice instead of my clunky menu screen.
