Flash syntax

Hi all,
I'm having some (fla) flash probs and i was wondering if their is a difference in syntax between .swi and .fla??
Or,is there a difference between flash versions?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

swi and fla use different syntax entirely unfortunately. It compares to the difference in scripting autoit vs. scripting vb.... same functions, different formats.

Any1 have an idea how this (swi) code col = "0x" add daycolour; would translate in fla.

If i change it to col = "0x" + daycolour; it gets rid of the error but don't work how it should.

Its driving me mad now!
All this for a logo,is it worth it??i'm not sure anymore.

have you tried col = "0x" ADD daycolour?

This will only work if daycolour is declared on the same level as well

also add:

trace("Col: "+daycolour);
trace("Type: "+(typeof daycolour));

the above will tell you if daycolour is undefined or not and what type of object it is. Hopefully a string.
