Beta testers for Sony FSR flash skin needed - Page 2

Great, great skin PERIOD. Instruction is nice and clear.

After spend good serveral hrs to change to my need, I found serveral issue (or feature

)

- I can't get the spectrum visual to embeded in the area. It's kinda hidden behide the skin.
- On menu skin: miniarea, I changed to removed album art inplace of sats.swf, but album art is always there and flashing (I know I can stop it by click on it.) Other screen it rotate fine.
- Dynamid VolUp, Down, Gramma (mute instead

). I can change that but the mute is always mute regardless of command. For example in GPS (iG) screen, I change to Zoom In, Zoom Out, GPS Info. Zoom does as suppose to but not GPS info.
- RREarth skin: rrearthaddon.swf is not included in the download package. Also, you have to change the jpg file on top of the file to background.jpg. Otherwise, it will look like a "vertical mail slot" because rrearth.jpg is not there.
- Pic Viewer, nice but a little too fast on slideshow, if there is an option to change interval time, it will be great.
- Sidebutton, if I change this code from

I don't have sidebut21 feature. Basically, SideButton 2 doesn't toggle.

3 Optional buttons is great feature as you can customize it to what you want. I really like it to be available to any screen associate with mainbutton and other button that load skin instead of limit to sidebutton.

Greate work

- If the VIS does not embed on any of the screens, make sure the exectbl.ini has the following line:

"WVIS","RUN;;!attachanalyser"

And from the mainbut or sidebut, you need to run WVIS after the load skin command.

- In menu.skin the flash in miniarea isn't meant to change. I think i did that for a reason (performance) as it slowed the skin down too much and took too much cpu usage. I'll play around with it again and see if i can re-enable that.

- You can only change the vol up, down and gamma. The mute always works as mute as well as the repeat/shuffle button. They are a on/off state button. Maybe i'll incoroparte them in later version

-I never tried rrearth... I'll see if i can dig up those files and include them in the release.

- Option to change interval will be added.

- The sidebut toggle I am talking about is between sidebut2 and sidebut21. The 3 sendkey commands you have there are for the vol up down and gamma buttons.

Looks like a great skin. Keep it up. I remember your posts on acurazine moahdib. Glad to see your still around. I'm in the final testing of my Carpc before I install it in my 05 WDP TL. I'm willing to give this skin a try.

hey man, I'm sorry I haven't had a lot of time to test this & troubleshoot, but i did notice that i had an issue when I went into igudance widow with all the selection icons, the rest of the skin around this window went pink... when i clicked out it did go back to normal....

overall very nice so far... question, : autonetdetect? what is it & how much resources does it use.... now I get a new icon in my taskbar spinning for it

TurboCad, there is an option to turn that off in the txt file. I think it's there to detect network connection by sending out ping command or whatever. It's one of the plugin that been floating around for a while.

Oh on the bug part, I am not sure if it is a bug, but here it goes.
When trying to exit, you get the screen with all the shutdown options (hibernate, standby .... ), the DeskTop button is acting like the Exit button. So either button will close RR. I thought the Desktop is to Minimize RR and show desktop.

Sofar things have been going very well. I am on a P4 1ghz with 512 Megs Ram, and it runs alittle slugghish, but all and all not to bad. Though I did notice 1 out of every 30 or so clicks, I need to hit the button 2 times to get it to register. All and all I think the skin is great

Yeah its almost ready I went back to drawing table and redesigned the top of the skin and make it bigger. And it won't be called Sony anymore bc I am using an alpine headunit this time so I'm just gonna call it FSR.
Here is whats new
- Animated weather maps
- Changing VIS on the fly

Release coming VERY soon.(1-2 days)

I got an even slower carPC than yours... =)

PIII 800mhz 628MB RAM with a GeForce Go card. Runs okay to me so I'm trying to do whatever I can to improve speed of the skin but there are only so many hours in a day ...
