Mitsubishi EVO 8 Install..all in dash, datalogging, tuning etc

Its been a long time coming and I only decided to do this because my 50 dollar radio was stolen, so about 800.00 dollars later, blood, sweat, and tears here goes

JETWAY 1.5ghz mini itx motherboard
60gig laptop hardrive
2 usb hubs
M2ATX finally working after the third one
Dynamix 7" touchscreen(touchscreen controller dead)
Griffin Powermate
Ps2 touchpad
RR Front End Using default skin with mitsu logo
Logworks datalogging software
ECUFlash engine management
Silabs USB Radio
Holux GPS mouse
Iguidance 3
Slimline DVD rom drive
USB Bluetooth

So far FM Radio Decently working, Video Working, GPS Functional, Music library working, internet thru phone via bluetooth. I would say about 80% functional still need to finish AC relocation.

Started out with this box from Fry's

First setup attempt didnt like hard drive mounting not parallel to ground when mounted

test fit

new hard drive mount

Had a motherboard failure so I use to have a Via 10000 then I switched to a Jetway due to faulty powersupply.

Old Setup never installed

Current Setup will be posted tonight!!!

Nice!!!!

I thought I was going to be the first to do it to an Evo but you beat me to it!!

Question:

Did you modify your existing dash center section or did you purchase a replacement piece from mitsu?

I have that Orbital dash kit and I can't bear to cut it...

I modified the existing dash piece. Yea I would not cut the orbital either, I would sale it and buy stuff for the carpc lol. I am still trying to locate a touchscreen controller, and I may get rid of the griffin powermate and try space navigator, on startup 30% it loads driver 70% i have to uninstall and reinstall lol. I probably wont be messing with the carpc for a while, about to throw a turbo kit together 50trim

The one thing I love the most is using logworks on my carpc. Just turn it on and log all day

Yeah logworks is cool. I have a logger that I wrote that is like evoscan + logworks combined that I am integrating into a front end. I have been busy working on the PocketPC logger so I haven't got a touchscreen/dashboard version of that done yet.

Is there any other Evo owners on here? If so, I can make a RR plugin for the Tactrix cable or something...

I think there are a few. Man if you can code, you need to help out with porting the speed density patch to other roms. I have a sample rom with the patch if you want it. But it needs to be ported over to other rom id's

Can you point me to a thread where this is going on? If it is assembly stuff then jcsbanks and bez and malibujack seem to jump ahead of my slow *** every time I log on...

I just stopped trying to keep up with their fast pace and concentrate on things no one else is doing.

Oh man, it will take me so long to catch up with them...

Thanks for the link though.

By the way, if you are interested in PocketPC / WinCE logging I almost have the final tactrix version working...

Will post on evom when finished.

Very nice fab work and install! What kind of box is that? I went to Fry's yesterday and didn't see anything similar to that...
