all right first things first, credit for the skin goes to cdrskull the creator, BUT the modifications for it go to Griff1 who helped me, and when i say helped me i mean, i just stood there holding my ball bearings while Griff1 did what i was trying to do in 30 seconds, so thumbs up to Griff1 , Thnx.

Now that the credits are done, down to the beef
the screen is from the mechtroniks kit, to fill the gaps i used the scion "double din kit" i quote it because it's just 2 pieces of plastic and nothing else, and before anyone asks, YES the cover works and it opens and closes automatically with ignition, check the video below.

I have not taken pics of the cpu because i had a problem, the system would boot with the engine off but not with the engine on, then i came to realize it was a bad relay after ripping it all apart, so it all looks like spagetti, i'll get some pics when i put it all back together, and yes i know the pics look like crap, but hey i'm not a photographer i'll take some better pics when i get a chance

Specs:
Mechtroniks Dual-Din Kit
Intel Celeron 3.02Ghz
MachSpeed MicroATX Mobo
512Mb Ram
2, 40Gb Hard Drives, 1= OS, 2= Media
PCI - D-Link Wireless Card
Altina - GPS Antenna

http://media.putfile.com/Tcover-29
Tcover Video (it will take about a minute to load because it's an avi)

Here's the PC

J/K, here's the actual PC

Without the cover, i'm using the cap to allow the pc to survive crank, and it works like a charm

I had Formula1 tint done on my car and yes it works great, but because the tint has a metallic film on it to keep it from fading it means that it blocks my gps signal, so the solution, place the antenna somewhere else, my whole roof is glass so i put the antenna ontop the headliner

Power switch and tCover Programing Switch

Weird what a slow shutter setting will do when your pulse SUCKS.

Sounds like you're using a home brewed relay setup to boot the computer on ignition? What method do you think you'll use for powering down (hibernate, standby, shutdown)?

Anyway, looks good, almost the way it should have been from factory.

boot up is just a simple relay with acc as the signal, for shutdown, when the acc signal is no longer there it trips a relay and it "pulses" the power button on the mobo which is configured to hybernate when the button is pressed, and at the same time my timer box which is just a resistor, some caps, and a transistor, keeps giving power to the pc for an extra 40 seconds after the acc signal is not there. that way it kills the pc if windows hangs

I like your system. Im currently installing a carpc into my tc too. Did you have to fabricate the screen at all? I have a lilliput screen and it would save me tons of time and countless mistakes if i just went out and bought a bolt on kit.

i bought the kit with the screen, all you have to do on the mounting kit is to move the screw holes about 1" towards the screen so it fits behind the waterfall, apart from that it fit like a dream, what i did is i used a dremel to make the opening longer,
from this (______) to this (_____________), the longer hole allows for a perfect fit. and the beauty of the kit is that you can buy a screenless kit and put your current screen in it

Hi,
Can you give a little more detail about the capacitor since I am experiencing the same problem?

Thanks

I recently got a scion xB i am wondering if the TC has the same double din area as the xB. I am thinking about getting the same lilliput kit as you except the black one.

What can you tell me?

The double din facia kits seem like only the sides how does that work?

could you rephrase that? i don't understand the question, as far as i know the radio in the xa, xb, and tc all use the same pioneer unit, so the opening should be the same, just keep in mind that i'm using the tc double din kit to fill the space between where the aluminum bezel ends to where the waterfall (opening) begins.
