<====== Bad in English

hi

some time when i driv my car i want to
play the music or chenge the song
e.g
so i dont want to look at the lcd when i'm driveing
it's realy risky

there is many solutions for that like
steering wheel control
voice control
or remout control

3 options
what i have to use!!?????

steering wheel: i dont' want to play with it

voice control: it's good whin the car is not moving
but when the car move the pc geting command from
the noice funy

remout control:this was my plan From the beginning
and the next and back PASSENGERS can use it

so here is what i did
build ir receiver
click here (how to build ir receiver)

i build Two ir receiver
one for home pc

and one for carpc

and remout (any remout work)

the ir receiver is connected to RS-232
pin 1 and 5 and 7

and the software is
winlirc
MiriServer

the MiriServer software is make the remout control work
like keyboard
so i use buttons in remout as hotkey

how it's work?
remout control ===> winlirc software ===> MiriServer ===> HotKey
thin i change the command in KeyTBL.dll as i want

and it's work fine
soon i'll post pic of the IR in the car

there is anther softwar is name (Girder) i think it's easy to use
but evry time i try to learn the key with (Girder) the pc is restarting
i don't know why. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

ohh
ther is another easy way
BUY remout control with ir receiver

^^^ Dude, have some respect. While it may not look OEM, he spent a lot of time and effort HAND FABRICATING everything.

FWIW, he spent more on his carpc setup and fabrication than you spent on your CRX

You sir....

The qualitity and craftsmanship are great, but the screen design is poor and looks out of place. IMHO.

I beg to differ buddy.

EDIT: I was a bit out of line, but I still think you could do better with the display placement.

Dude. Lots of hard work and careful planning into your setup. :-) Definitely appreciated the photos of your work as you got from the beginning to the end product :-)

I know I am waayyy late in responding to this but, Wowsers! This is crazy and a half. Great engineering. I have been researchnig a solution for mounting a 7" screen in my 05 Altima. Now I know how that would look like. I am actually going to use a more mobile solution for my computer though. I am going to use my EEEPC which I already use in my car for Music but is simply connected to my after market stereo via the front Aux jack.

This will be temporary until I have all my desired external components. Since the EEEPC has an external VGA output..I will use that to connect to the touchscreen I want to mount similar to yours in that same location in my Altima.

Code:
<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="288" height="192" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fhexxamillion%2Falbumid%2F5261006812416970177%3Fkind%3Dphoto%26alt%3Drss%26authkey%3DnbfIHLtBERU" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>
