I just received my SNs. I guess the SE is better for OEM work that the laptop one.

I haven't been able to get it to work with itunes for volume control. and foolishly i thought it rotates before i got them. has anyone been able to get space navis to work with itunes fully?

give me tips and i will follow.

So a few weeks ago my Sony laptop gave out. It's quite annoying because everything was finally running great. I tried replacing the motherboard and processor but it's still broke. So I ordered some new parts and will have start all over again. Here is the list

Jetway NC62K
M2-ATX Car PC Carputer Power Supply
VoomPC-2 Enclosure
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4850E Dual Core AM2 2.5GHZ 45W
2 GB PC2-6400 DDR2 800 240 pins Memory

The Jetway board sounds great and has 10 usb ports which will solve most of the problems I had with the laptop and running usb hubs. Nice little speed boast too so Google Earth should be a lot smoother with buildings on.
I should get it all in a couple of days and then I'll start tweaking once again.

I can get 2 GB of 800 for the price of 1 GB of 1066. Is it really that much faster?
The 4850e is a very low power processor so I'm sure it'll be fine.

The ram will only run as fast as the FSB for the CPU. Now if you were overclocking then I would say get the 1066 but I doubt you are doing that in a carputer. Also, I am sure the timings are faster on the 800 than the 1066. Stick with the 800 you won't notice a difference.

jetway fsb can support 1066 with flashed bios.

I tried booting the jetway with a friends m2atx... no dice.

OFC it had a pci sound card and a 10krpm drive and cd rom on it but, no dice.

BTW the board runs pretty hot and the 4850e brisbane chip has a known flaw in the temperature reading (it reads -13 degrees under the current temp).... i reccomend extra ventilation.

If u get this done i, i'd say we have very similar setup.

another thing, the heatsink on the 4850 is a BIIIIG and tall mofo, you will need to find something smaller for any slim casing.

Yeah it's a logitech quickcam pro for notebooks I think.
Here are some pics of the new PC almost ready to go in the car. I'm just waiting for the ram to arrive tomorrow. It's definitely going to be a tight fit. That's what she said.
