thanks hiJack!!!

Your welcome...... us Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep people gotta stick together.... I wish I could have done the headrest thing, but my seats are that single piece design, kinda like racing seats. I thought it would look terrible in those. So I decieded to go with one big screen, that way the second and third row seats can see the TV.

I know exactly what you're talking about - I don't like the whole "racing theme" because let's be honest here; where in the hell are you going to drive 100 Mph in US??? Therefore I went with classic slick look

wait untill I get my hands on exterior of this car I'm thinking body kit and 22" rims just to set it off

Actually i like my racing seats, just not with TVs in them. I also see no point in having two 7 inch screens if everyone in the back can just look at one big 15-17 inch screen. Me, Im a muscle car person, but because of family, i needed a large car. Had a Jeep Cherokee, it exploded, so i went to replace it with a new one. When I saw the Shelby SP 360 (Dodge Durango redone by Shelby). I bought the truck so fast. My plans are to get the Super Pursuit body kit, upgrade headers and exhaust, and remove the speed limiter so I can go over 110..... I want 22's also. Kenisis makes a nice all black rim with a rid lip, so niceeeeeee. To me the 300 should always be a classy car.... To me its like the Bentley of America.....

Um, guys:

Racing seat:

Factory "racing" seat (more accurately called a highback bucket):

Huge difference.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with putting your monitors in the headrest portion of highback buckets. It's entirely up to the owner if they like the look or not.

A nice big screen for rear seat passengers is great if you have the room for it. Just make sure you secure it adequetly or it'll "take your head off" on it's way out the windhield in a front end collision. That's apretty large screen to secure to a roof panel............even 4 lbs is alot of weight in a collision. The inertial forces can get pretty high, build the mount big and strong. Absolutely nothing wrong with it if it's built right though...........
One large screen also does away with the need to split the signal and associated quality degredation.

In tighter compartments, individual screens are just as good because the picture is right there in front of you. You also don't have to worry about them flying around in a collision.

It all depends on what works best for you..............

Oh yeah, you used to be able to do 100 mph (and more) in the US. It was on a road nicknamed the "Montanabahn"..................daytime speed limit of "reasonable and prudent".

The prudes in gov't mucked that one up too.............

I didnt know they were called highback seats, there still that one piece design, one is just more comfortable. Either way, I think it looks ugly on a single piece seat like that, i have seen other Durangos with it, plus on your seats you can adjust the screens up and down, I wouldnt. How do they secure large screens to the roof anyways? I pulled my headliner off and it has nothing to lock onto. Do they weld it on? Maybe what i can do is attach like a safety line, so that in an accident, the screen can come off, but the line would keep it from flying forward. I think maybe Im going to have professionals do the large screen.

I'm not from US and I know how it feels to drive on Autobahn - experienced it for many years

and i think you should have same here in US - I mean isnt it ironic to have 8 lane traffic and in very last left lane you have little old lady doing 50 MpH on her way to the church, and it's absolutely legal - in Germany you would get a ticket for something like that

Yea, Im from Germany. Remember when we built the autobahn, we built it to last forever. America is cheap and uses thin asphalt to pave its roads, the autobahn is made of huge chunks like 1 story tall. So going fast on our roads is unsafe. One pothole and it will send the car flying..... It also depends. I noticed driving from Miami to Tampa, that in Miami you have to deal with slow poeple driving in the left lane.... towards the middle of the state everyone moves over, then as you get towards tampa, everyone drives dumb again.

I absolutely agree - also their "driving culture" is horrible

they will create traffic for hours just to look on the accident hoping to spot some blood-how ironic

hey Jack - I wonder if I can use my PC Power Supply (Idon't know if it's ATX) to test my CarPC ???

I have Pentium 4 at home, would the instructions you gave me apply to this one?

how about if I connect it directly to the car battery ???

nevermind my last comment - I hooked the carPC to the PC power Supply and I'm using AC-DC power adapter for the monitor that came with it in the box

however, now I have a problem - when I start the PC I get this beeping sound coming from the motherboard and no feedback to the monitor at all. I wonder if I hoooked up the front controls correctly ???

I think with most P4 boards there is the little connector with 4 boxes that you connect along with the ATX connector....... you have to connect that otherwise the board will beep and shut off.

To connect to the car battery, instead of connecting the 12v+ to the yellow on the power block, you would connect it to the 12v+ of you battery. The ground would go to a ground point about 3 to 6 feet away, anything longer will cause issues. You do have you amp wiring kit run right? It is recommened you have between 4 to 0 guage kit. Anything else is inviting danger. Im hoping Toaster will post his famous picture!!!!

PS: here it is!

I am not going to install amplifier - I'm planning to use my existing speakers in the car

"famous picture" rocks

no I decided I wont use the car battery

but, I cant find the little connector with 4 boxes you're talking about - is it supposed to be on the motherboard, PC Power Supply, or on M2-ATX ?

Im still somewhat a newbie so I dont know what that darn thing is called. Most people call it a P4 connector.... So how are you going to install the PC? were will it get its power from. Trust me, if your going to install a nice system, I would do it right. It will cost you 3 times the money later. take it from me, Im at almost 4,000 dollars into my setup, because i did not research and bought useless stuff and didnt take people advice. The AMP kit is required to handle the heavy power usuage the PC and other items will require.

I'm going to fabricate custom housing for it from fiberglass and attach it on the top of my trunk

as for power, see I didnt even thought about AMP kit - I guess I was wrong thinking to attach M2 directly to the battery

however, I'm planning to upgrade stock battery for more power storage as well as stock alternator for providing additional boost
