Hi matc1603,

The safety flooring is the same as the stuff you get in hospitals and toilets. It's about 5mm thick and is stuck using contact adhesive. Then the seams are 'welded' using a heat gun and plastic. Sort of like a glue gun. It's handy having a floor layer as a mate.

Hi RichArab,

Total cost of the project. Well, £8000 for the van, £400 for side windows, £400 for bumper spraying, About £600 for Genesis Profile 2 ultra amp and Genesis Profile sub and the actual sub. £300 for Hertz speakers. £100 for electric window kit. £200 for timber and plywood. £200 for flooring and fabrics. Can't remember how much the PC cost, but I got it from MP3car, becasue even with import tax it was cheaper then in UK. £250 for actuator and TV. Metal for the bed was free. Think that's about all.

Oh, also, 1 year of work on the van and learning how to program to make my front end.

I have also added side bars to the van. These are custom ones, made from Stainless steel tube, with aluminium end caps. I then made a gig to hold the other bits of stainless so a mate could weld them on to allow me to attatch them to the van.

Here are the pictures...

The stainless tubes in the gigs, with the aluminium end caps

End caps on

Installed on the van

Lovin' the van, man.

Can you tell me what you're using for navigation? And would you be willing to part with a copy of your frontend? It looks clean and simple.

Great job on the LCD install, I can only dream of such results when I get to cuttin' and pastin'...

I meant the whole front end program you are using, for music, movies, etc. I was planning on using Garmin Mobile PC for navigation, but I will check out your link.

Well, the velcro doesn't seem to hurt the board, but due to it getting pretty warm in the sun under the dashboard, the sticky part of the velcro comes away from the board. I will get round to another method one day.

Smile Attaching Moleskin to plywood

What adhesive would you recommend toattach Moleskin to plywood. I am re linning my van and I have had all sort of problem in the past with carpet and material coming away from the wood in the summer heat. It is hard to know what adhisive to use that works but will not ruin the material.

Battery

Hi really great conversion!

I'm just starting a t5 conversion myself and was wondering if you made any upgrades or changes to the battery and alternator to cope with the extra power being drawn by the amps.

Also I'm guessing you added a leisure battery what gear did you use for that?

Any help appreciated!

Cheers!
