1965 Dodge A-100

Been working on the van for over a year and it is getting really close to being done. One of the last things I have left to do is finish up my carputer install and polish/tweak it.

Here are some pictures of what I have done.

Speaker installed in side door. Polk because there was a good deal on them and a good friend said they were pretty good.

Side view on the roof of the enclosure I made that holds the satellite antenna for the XM radio and GPS.

Amp mounted in the wall. Computer case is just sitting there on the floor up against the wall. This is a cruising van and there is tons of room inside. No reason to hide it. Black box to the right and behind the drivers seat is the starting battery. Second battery (not pictured) is underneath the van.

10.4 inch touch screen using DigitalFX 3.0 skin with the emerald greed theme. Just below the screen, barely visible, is a slot load slimline DVD player.

Overview of the front area. Showing the two speaker enclosures I made out of fiberglass holding Polk db 6.5" speakers. You can see where the screen is. The screen is molded into the dash using some fiberglass and bondo.

12 inch Pioneer shallow mount sub in fiberglass box in rear of van.

Celeron 2.4 Ghz P4. 1GB RAM. Windows XP Pro SP2
I have the XM PCR, the D-link USB radio (which is crap and I took it out), Iguidance 3.0 with Itrek gps mouse(not great but not bad either). What I basically use this for is shows. I go there, play some mp3's, play a movie which is typically Pixar's "Cars" since my van is in it as one of the rust-ease guys, and I display the GPS info and map. If there is wireless internet around I'll load something up on the web. Most people are impressed with those basic features. I also have a reverse camera that I may someday install but I can't yet find a good spot for it without making it look stupid.
