The guys from bybyte told me how to modify the metra double din kit to fit the screen brackets. I just used a drill and a 5 dollar grinding set. It took like 2hrs but it got the job done. Those extra wires are speaker wires for the amp that i don't have yet so i figured i'd just leave them there for a couple of weeks til i can afford the amp.

I'll find out tomorrow though if it is the pump or not that's causing my oil light. If it's the pump (half price of the car's value) I might just garage the car and look at buying a different car.

Are you concerned about temps vs. trunk?

Very concerned!!! Thats why i added those two extra fans on my case. So far i've been below 40C but it was a pretty cool day today. I have to wait for the 90 degree temps and see how it goes.

I don't really drink but i can help when i can. I won't do it for you of course but i will provide the assistance i can. The drilling in the car is easy its everything else thats a *****. I freaking hate taking apart cars. I break so many damn clips.... ehhh so annoying

Any concerns about the temps in the winter? I broke some clips on some trim going up to the side of my car when I was rerunning the remote for the Passport radar detector. :/

Also, side note, love your camera - I get yelled at when I use the Rebel for pictures of the carputer

hmmm not too worried about temps in the winter although maybe i should be.... I think the processor gets so hot that in the winter it won't get too cool. Maybe a 10-20 degree drop. I guess we will see. Maybe i'll design a heater circuit or something.

How could u tell i was using a Rebel? lol

EDIT
hmm now i'm a little more concerned. The min temp for the processor is 0C . This may pose a problem in the winter but i think i can think of something by then.

I'm thinking of using a switch to prevent the computer from booting with the ignition. That way I can give the computer a chance to warm up (I usually "preheat" my car in the winter anyways ) before firing up the processor.

I downloaded the photo and looked at the information in the Summary page in the file properties

I might be able to setup a switch process. One way its normal operation and the other is winter operation. That might work but the only problem is that my trunk won't be heating up too much unless the system is on.

Some of the external security cameras have enclosures that come with a heater/blower - I wonder if you could get an enclosure on the cheap and modify it for your setup.

or you could just use one of these for the winter
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nitro...Q5fAccessories

as far as high temp during the summer, i live in Florida, my pc used to freeze at boot up if the car sat in the sun for a while, but after i got my windows tinted it hasn't frozen since, just make sure that the temp throttle and shutdown setting are enabled so you don't fry something.

This could work but i think i might just take a couple of resistors with high power dissipation and just run a switch to it. That would provide enough heat to work in the winter. That would be a really easy install too.
