My Chevy Tahoe and carputer

Fixed link to pictures!

http://www.sounddomain.com/member_pa...page_id=121480

Audiobahn A6601Q 75W x 6 Car Amplifier

Front Rear and sub amp: I love this amp, never cut off on me.

Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1

This sub has such good sound.

Sony XA-300

This little unit is a life saver; I have my DVD player, cd changer and carputer
Connected to this device. My Sony head unit changes between all sources. The
Carputer connects via USB cable to the XA-300 to my Sony head unit. Talk about
Crystal clear sound. No noise at all. I did have to ground the carputer in order
To get rid of some popping noise. It's totally gone.

CLARION VA700 VIDEO DISTRIBUTION AMP
This little box sends a strong signal to all my monitors.
1 input 7 out.

BLAUPUNKT DVD-ME1 DVD/CD/MP3 PLAYER
Very nice picture for such a low price. I got this on EBay.

WAGAN 300 watt power inverter
Well it works for me. I'm waiting on an Opus 200 watt DC-DC Power supply

Xenarc 700TSV Monitor

Well everyone knows about these things, I love it. I have to say with the
Inverter it would not give me a clear picture, kept refreshing every 5 secs,
I then stumbled on the surge protector idea. I took my UPS from my home
PC and places it inline with the carputer and the inverter and the screen
Was perfect. The wavy lines were gone and the refresh stayed the same. I
Wanted to see if any surge protector would work so I got one of the power
strips from the house and placed it inline the same way and nothing. The
picture was jacked just like before. So I ran out to Best Buy and bought a
surge protector Cyber Power and it worked but not as good. I could see
some wavy lines on the screen. So I put back my UPS an APC 500VA Back-UPS
ES 500 which I did get from Best Buy. I took the battery out of it and I'm
just using the surge side of it. If anyone can explain to me why I get
such better performance from this UPS please let me know. I know it has
Something to do with filters and stuff but I would like to know because I
would love to just get a surge protector other than this UPS.

Sony CDX-M750

This is the heart beat of my system. It runs everything! I had this unit
for over 2 years now and I do not see me changing it anytime soon.

Sony 10 Disk CD Changer
I hardly ever use this anymore.

Carputer
Shuttle SB51G, built in sound video, Logitech Wireless keyboard and mouse,
four usb2.0 ports, two IEEE1394, one SPDIF, GPS Receiver Rand McNally serial,

DeLorme Street Atlas USA 2003 and Microsoft Streets & Trips, Dlink 802.11 card,
ATI 9000 AGP video card, 1 GB Memory, Celeron 1.7 CPU. I know over kill but
hey I'm a techie. I think I got everything, any question please feel free
to ask,

Reggie

nice ride. you have lots of room to work with. Why not making the stuff in the back/trunk covered or something? kinda looks just thrown in there? maybe i need to look at the pic closer up.

Well the truck or amp rack isn’t finished; I just got the GPS yesterday. Didn't have time to wire it. The surge protectors are there from test I ran the day before to see which one has the cleaner line. Just thought I would post pictures.

Killer.....you have alot of nice stuff man!

I will tell ya tho, those pics look alot like my 4-runner before it got broken into!!
the amp rack is nice, but I would suggest building some kind of carpeted storage box that is lockable, and bolting it and your sub box down.

I was gonna say the exact same thing. Your tahoe has a lot of nice stuff in it and I can see that and so will the guy who steals it all.

I understand what you guys are saying; it’s not just in there to be stolen. I have a Compustar alarm system with pager, that was the first thing I had installed in my car after I got the rims. There are three Police officers in my area alone, one next door. I know that anyone can steal your car at anytime but they sure are going to have to try hard to get mine and if they do it was meant to be. I thought this site was for anyone to post the carputers and get some sound advice. Looks like everyone wants to just down me for some reason. Maybe I'm taking this the wrong way but read the post on this site and you tell me,

No way Mongrat I'm not saying you are dissin me at all. Just didn't sound right about talking about systems getting stolen that's all. I know you guys didn't mean anything by it. What type of system do you have Mongrat and how was your install process,

Reggie

P.S.

It's cool to be able to reply to you from the truck. Don't you just love computers!

Cool man, sometimes text onscreen can be cornfusing.

Your replying from your truck?
What kind of connection are you using? Cellphone?

Have you guys seen this:

http://www.kvh.com/tracvision/A5/index.asp

as for me Reggie, I just got my stereo sounding decent and I need to score a digi camera to post some pics.
As for MP3s right now Im just using an Archos Studio Jukebox 10.
But im collecting up parts for my carputer.
Ive got almost everything except the 2 biggies, DC-DC power supply and Touchscreen, Im thinking Ill probably get that In-Das 7" Touchscreen with VGA from Digital WW, but thats alot of cash so Im waiting.

Right now Ive got an Athlon 1.1GHZ sitting here with 384MB ram, 40 gig hard drive and a Soundblaster card. 64Meg Geforce PCI with Svideo and Composite out.

Ill have GPS of course, and as a bonus, Im hooking up my computer-Controlled Shortwave Radio Tuner, although I dont expect much performance out of that while moving.

One cool thing im planning on is a USB hub in the dash so I can plug my Archos Jukebox in and have a spare 10GB of music, along with the ability to swop out songs off the carputer and have unlimited portibility.

Anyways. Its all money right???

Hey man that sounds nice, I like the USB hub idea. That sounds like another project . How do you like that Jukebox? I'm using Media Engine and I'm very happy with it. I can't wait untill it's complete. Also I'm using 802.11 from outside my house. I wish I could go further, but the prices for things like that is up there. That TracVision looks promising, winder if it will have internet support or mabe it does.

The Archos Jukebox is actually a handheld walkman-type player.
The computer software for it is called Musicmatch, which seems pretty nice and has skins for it, but the Music Library feature is a little wierd, It doesent like to list different albums seperately.
Im still tryin to figure it out.
