Did you turn the "cloaking" off so we could see it?

wizardPC will become famous soon enough
okay, if you go to his site, you will see what he means.

but seriously, you have got to do something about that screen. that setup is hideous. you WILL be laughed at, and not just by us. I dont care how many other websites have posted about you in their "news" section, that is the ugliest "stealth" install ever.

OK. I must admit, I see the "stealth" part now after going to his wesite. But that screen!!! OMG!!! It has got to go...somewhere else.

I have to say, that was a very slick install on the computer end. Very, very stealth! The setup could use a little work on the screen install. That's the easy part. I don't want to take anything away from the remainder of the install...That Clarion HU never had a better use!!!

My two biggest concerns when I started putting it in the car was to make sure that I could make the computer disappear and to not deface the car in any way. I don't want anyone walking up to the car and seeing that there is a computer in there. If they don't know it's there, they won't try to steal it. The monitor is very easy to remove and put in the glovebox. Then there are no visible signs that the computer is there at all. Also, the monitor is perfectly positioned so that it is at my fingertips with my arm on the armrest. It also swivels to the passenger side very easily for my wife to operate while going down the road on trips.

well tha'ts cool. . .i thought the connectore on the xenarc was pretty poor? how well do you think it will hold up over time ifyou keep on moving the screen from the glovebox back and fourth. . or is the screen just for ocassional use.

is your center console dash piece removable? cause if it is you could buy a spare piece (as i did) to do no permanent mods to the car. the way i see it is that if it is molded in and looks stock a potential theif would say the same and leave it alone. a lot of new cars nowadays come with navigation screens stock

The connector on the Xenarc is nearly identical to the connector that is on my wife's old Motorola Startac phone. It's been plugged and unplugged hundreds of times over the years and hasn't had any problems, so I thought that it will hold up well. Also, I don't have to have the monitor connected at all to listen to tunes. Girder automates everything really well. I only need the monitor for GPS, movies, and normal computer-stuff like internet, etc. (which doesn't happen that often.) If I need to do anything complicated to it, I use VNC.

Humm, lame. Make it look cool if you are going to all that work, and I'm sure you can make it so that no one will see it, or not notice it at least. LCD customed into lower dash works here
