Here is the end result of my carputer project. I'm a poor guy, so alot of my hardware, is recycled, second hand junk. And when i had to buy new parts, espically the screen, i have to shop by price, rather than application. But over all, it works pretty good. I know this thread is for finished projects only, but i think that there is no such thing as a "finished" carputer. It is always going to be a work in progress. I am REALLY digging for some ideas on what to do with this damn screen here!

$500 for a 7" screen? Maybe in Canada... but you can pick up 7.2" screens for <$100 on eBay.

dumb people > you
armen (digitallww.com) and dave (dscustoms.com) have by far the best priced "good" screens out there right now oriented for car use. try getting a touchscreen monitor that is vga from ebay...at all. even armens tm701l composite screen allows for size 12-14 font to be readable...i know ebay screens for 100 cant come close to that.
search, read, learn, buy and compare, and then say what you said again

It's ok noodles I see your point though some people dont. In Shane's site, he mentioned that he didnt wanna spend $500 for a 7 inch screen. I know that your commenting on his statement by saying that yeah right $500 for a screen? maybe in Canada b/c **** cost more up there than here. When Xenarc first came out, people paid $580 for the 700TSV. Now that supply's up and demand is down, You can buy the TSV for about $400. Though I think you should retract the $100 screens on ebay statement. They're junk and you're just wasting $100 for a screen that's pretty much useless.

Ask sarbz he knows.

Haha, he was asking for it when he bought something made by Pyramid. I was thinking more like the low-end Lilliput screens. I know some people here have the touchscreen version, and they seem quite satisfied.
I never said you could pick up a good screen for under $100. I guess I should've said "crappy" or something.

sry to snap, i was just trying to point out that its not worth the effort, time, or money to get one of those crappy lil screens off ebay. sry if it came out harshly, no insult intended
i guess i am just really happy with the screen i got as well, and after seeing ebay ones in person, look down on them considerably. i am biased...cant help that, but ill watch my mouth
