how much would you sell one of these for?
also how do you get the shape right, because you said you made the x5 one without the car, so how did you get the curve right without the x5 dash?

Email sent Rich, like i said i can meet you as i am in Cherry Hill, NJ.
I totally understand the busy thing, other people are contacting me about making them, but I want mine from the master. I have seen your work and feel comfortable. Your work is legendary
ps Can you tell me how you fixed not having an OEM radio problem. I like you don't want to loose this, but prefer the clean look of the monitor alone as pictured above. Can we remote mount the BMW OEM head unit in the trunk, under a seat or something like that? I know I can have a friend Hack the Ibus to port the LCD display to the monitor, and all buttons I need are right on the steering wheel.

Thanks.
Rich the same shop i told you about before (in Philadelphia) they have an x5 and you can test fit there if you want and use all the power tools you need. Additionally, i am sure with all the custom BMW modifications they do, you will be able to sell some units directly through the shop if you wanted to or set up some type of referral service.

Rich,
Any plans on making housings for e36 3-series? Also there were no prices on your site for housings
I have a 95 318ti. I have tried 3x so far to fab a housing with no luck. I run into the problem when its time to take care of the heater controls. they need to be dropped down about 6 inches. Since my setup is cable driven this causes a small problem.
Do you have any solutions for this? I can provide pics if necessary

Rich, how does the frame itself screws into the dash (if it does)? I see the holes on the frame's "ears", but the holes on the dash don't have anything hard to screw into. Maybe I lost track of the piece that was supposed to take the screw? Is it just the dash trim strips that are supposed to hold the frame in place?
Thanks, I love the frame - looks great in the dash, just like original equipment as promised.

When you remove your factory radio it should be obvious to you. The factory radio has the same "ears". I think you removed the bracket holding the factory radio also. That stays in your dash, you just have to cut some one the center so the LCD will fit.
I'm glad you like the trim. Post some pics in this forum.

Here's how mine looks installed:
Rich, mine was a little different since I had the GPS originally installed (not the Business radio). You can see what I mean when you look at the pics I updated my work log with. I'm still looking for a more permanent way to fasten the frame to the dash other than just the trim pieces keeping it in place. I also need to do your "pin trick" to keep the lcd in place.
Overall I'm really pleased with the trim - I think it looks fantastic.

I plan on making my own trim once I buy the screen, but I've got a question after seeing Hark's carputer this weekend.
Is it possible to move the screen around so it will be at a different angle? With Hark's, we both noticed the glare from the rear window. I think if I have the screen perpendicular to the ground (As opposed to the slightly tilted back angle it is right now), that it would not get the glare. So is there enough room to reposition the screen and make a trim peice still look stock?
Another option might be to tilt the top of the screen back a little, and push the bottom of the screen out more...that way the screen is pointing more towards the ceiling and not getting the glare from the rear window.

Yeah if you put the scren in at the OEM angle it does glare.. Esp. driving east at sunset
Just limo tint your back window! Or get BMW's motorozed rear window sunshade (Lots of dealers don't even know this option exists, but it can even be retrofitted.) Or wait for the LCD Brightness mod that should render sunlight an obsolete problem...

When does the Brightness mod come out? Or does the limo tint do the trick...cause I was kinda of planning to tint my windows more as it was. Might as well go all out with the tint if it really does the trick.
