Holden VS Commodore Carputer Finished
I have finished installing my Carputer into my 1996 Holden VS Commodore.
It is a M10000 motherboard with an ITPS and PW-70A Power components. Hooked up and running Windows XP on the 40Gb HDD which is about to be changed to a notebook 40Gb HDD. I have had to cut out the back of the glovebox and also the centre console to get everything in but now up and running it is great. Thinking of starting these for other install in Brisbane, Australia.
Let me know what you all think about it.

Its nice, but you could clean up the wiring. Also maybe want to look at using some fiberglass on the front of that dvd drive, to make it look a little more OEM. But it looks good.. other than the wiring!!

yeah still a few things to go to finish it off completely. This is it in the working stage just tidying to do - cables will be tidied up. Glad that it is up and running though. Am looking at options to tidy up the gap where the dvd is. Just making sure now that everything is working fine and then it will be remade in the glovebox with extra bits etc

Looks good. One word of advice. The picture that shows the front of your car, you may want to smudge out your numberplate. Better to be safe than sorry.

Just protective I guess. I have heard of a lot of cars over the years getting done over for the gear in them. It has happened to a mate of mine when he was on the car audio scene. Someone got his plate and found out where he lived, followed him out one night and stole his sub box, amps and head unit. You don't know who is looking at this board. I don't want to see anyone lose their setup to some low life who wants to make some cash.

I'm having a sense of deja vu, that set up is looking a lot like mine except for two things, firstly I didn't cut anything in my car (A/C, glovebox, etc), and secondly my wires are a little neater
Just a an idea for you, the drive appears to be too deep to sit flush with the dash under the screen (i had the same problem), you should go for a notebook variety.
I've been searching high and low in Australia for an affordable resource and have traced it down to http://www.briscomputers.com.au for about $130 AU (Liteon 8x DVD slimline). Last time I checked they were out of stock but they said Jan 04 maybe.
