Thumbs up Oldest Car w/carputer! 1982 Honda Prelude + wifi = tight http://www.wirelesslude.com

These are a few pics of my install. I've located the motherboard in the glove compartment so I can have the dvd drive in dash. Please visit my web site, and post your reactions & questions! Also as of now all the carputer software totally sucks! Its too limiting, car computers can do anything!! Thanks!
keep it on ice

love that too. It's more like a car built around a PC than a PC built into a car. Much respect.

Though ghetto, it works awesome! The real hold back it the IDE cable for the DVD rom drive. But I've just decovered a IDE to USB connection on this site, so maybe I can move it to the trunk. This setup only costed about $400, thats a lot of ghetto for your buck!!

Mad props for the creative use of duct tape for structural integrity on your computer cover.

structural integrity!!! Thats my carputer's least favorite word! The face plate is actually a piece of a rubbermade lid. The Duct tape holds the plate to the dvd rom drive. The Tape is around the edges because is actually looks better than looking at my sloppy cut on the plate. Being a techie I have a gift for putting electronics in small spaced, but I'm not very good at astetics, especially for cutting out a custom face plate.

wow, that's...um.... special. Ok, its definately unique, and you gave it a good effort. I applaud you. On the other hand, I think your computer may be worth more than the car you put it in.
