v8 mkIII supras dont exist... you must be getting a chopped one w/ a camaro engine in it or something. all Supras in america were 3.0L Inline 6cylinder enginesTurbo and non turbo, there was a Japanese versio that had a 2.5 L Twin Turbo.
Northstar V8, Nope!!

Like Cassio said, there is NO Northstar nor V8 in ANY Supras. The Supra only come in 3 different engines. 3.0L NA (7M-GE), 3.0L Turbo (7M-GTE), and 2.5L Twin Turbo (1J-GTE) all inline 6. The 2.5L is only available in Japan (or some other RHR countries) but not in the US.
There are a few in SoCal who has 2.5L Twin Turbo setup in their Mk3 but those are imported engines.
As of the AUDIO controls on steering wheel, no those are NOT audio control. Those buttons are for cruise control.

Alright after I am getting tired of flip the screen down so I can use the HVAC, I decided to do a bit futher posting on this thread for fabrication ideas. I took the Rotozip and cut the bezel where the ash tray used to be.
The bezel before.
After the cut and the front PSOne screen is in place.
Bondo Glass first pass.
Light weight Bondo body filler.
Sanding extra bondo filler.
Sanding and more sanding. The back after mount to radio bezel
Front with Winamp5. The paint is Rustolium painter's touch vinyl black.
Everything is in place. Left of the LCD is the Power and HD LEDs, Power button and SDC kill switch and PSU ACC switch.
Different shot.
Some notes: I mount the 1/2 DIN EQ behind the LCD so that the LCD controller board is laying between the radio and the EQ. I can't no longer adjust the EQ or the PSOne brightness control. To do so, I have to take the bezel out. That is a pain in the a$$ job.
The bezel material is a PITA to work with. There are imperfection with bondoing and the whole process, but I don't really care much. Look close up, there is the line where bondo and rubber met that is su<k but that is the best I can do with the bezel material. I am more than happy with the previous setup.
oh yeah, I swap out the old 550MHz CPU with the old "new" 600MHz and 500MB RAM. That's it for the Supra. No more update except the DC-DC PSU which will soon be a custom Mastero/Sproggy MK4.

Wow, looks cool, one thing you might have wanted to do is to use a flat paint... I hadnt thought of mounting it there, seems I will be chaning my mounting position when I do mine... So I can have room for my AFC, and misc other gadgets... yeah our Rubber is a real pain in the ***, good job none the less.
I like that Idea so I may have to steal it...

Any chance you could post the width and height of the lcd so I can cut out a peice of cardboard and see if the size will work out ok for what I need (just actual lcd size will be fine).

A little late to answer this, but it is seriously I can't open the dash right now to make measurement. There are some people who currently have an open PSOne screen on their desk. Look up the display forum and ask those.
The next time I open the dask is either something wrong with the LCD, the HU, wires, and/or I have to drop the transmission down for a clutch job.
Or maybe when I REALLY have a lot of time to redo the fab for the screen (right now it look okay but UGLY).

Im not trying to affend you personaly, but the idea of putting a PSone screen in your dash is beyond me....why didnt you just buy a 6" non-touch off ebay for $100.00 or less?? or even a Liliput touch-screen for $200.00?? would of saved you a lot of time and effort I know some people are gonna say "work with what you got" but come on...
Good luck with the Matrix, thats a really nice car.

Seriously, I wouldn't trade my modded PSone + Matrox video card for a Lilliput. I have both and I now the quality of this PSOne. The PSOne LCD has been moded by so many people not only on this forum but elsewhere as well.
If you are in Socal, come to one of the meet and see it for yourself. The screen is small but I can read it with the sun hit directly on the screen. The car has SportRoof/Targa top, and daylight readable screen is a MUST.
The worst part of this in dash is not the LCD, but the radio bezel. What type of material can make the rubberized plastic stick with ABS?
If you have an MK3 Supra, you know what I am talking about.

I'm aware of the better visability of a ps1 screen...but the circuit board is bulky and its not a touch...thats just my opinion though...not intended to insult.

Totally agree with the bulky circuit board. I saw some one mod it to an extreme. Chop off part of the circuit board. Maybe this is the next thing I have to do
BTW this is my "test" install for my Matrix, but it turn out much better than I expected.

Your images are over bandwith dude also the Mk III supra come with the 2ltr 1g-gte and 1g-ge (GA70), i have a 1989 MA70 turbo sport roof myself
im considering doing this with my heater controlls and fiting in a large touchscreen, and if possable i'll make a software climate controll and remove the heater controlls compleately
