2003 G35 Sedan Custom Dash And Computer version II

After a year of driving with ver 1 of my carputer I finally finished installing version 2. I am still waiting for radio xtreme to arrive but here are the pics of the new dash.

Well it is that time again and I am getting ready to sell my Infiniti G35 Sedan...

Since my next car will not be a G35 (I am not sure what will it be) I will soon be selling almost everything and starting from scratch.

The main item will be the center dash with the ultra bright Xenarc and the A/C controller from Japan. I really want to sell it as one piece so someone else can put it to good use.

The rest of the computer parts will be up on the 'for sale' forum shortly.

First, drivers view of Frodoplayer:

very nice looking indeed...but now you'll have to take yours eyes farther off the road to use the screen; are you noticing any difference in practice here?

One the one hand yes it is lower, on the other the screen is much more readable. So far I think it is fine, and that is were the OEM radio was. When I get the steering wheel controls done (still waiting for the IR receiver) I will have volume up/down and song next/prev so I wouldn't have to use the screen much when driving.

I finally got my steering wheels controls done. Check out this thread for more details.

I now have buttons for:
1) Change to Frodoplayer
2) Change to CoPilot
3) Volume up/down
4) Track FW/REW

The volume was tricky. Since Frodoplayer needs two key strokes. The first to start setting volume up or down and the second to stop it. What I did was set the RX commander to do a key combination.

The computer controls are the ones on the left.

Izik,

I have a few questions about your new setup, did you make this new dash with the factory radio dash or did you convert the new double din dash to house the screen?

Also did you have to order any replacement A/C controller parts like those that have done the double din conversion to swap out the radio? If you used the standard dash for this were you able to order a replacement from the States side, or you have to order from Japan?

Maybe you can put together a parts list with ~rough pricing if there was any extensive amount of parts required for this setup... Only parts that pertain to the G35 ie: dash, a/c controller if needed etc...

Thanks!!

Really good install, nice and clean. I really like how you have the wheel controls working with you system. Good Job.

The most impressive part is that the pictures almost look like computer generated ones!
It has to be one of the cleanest setups on these boards!
