2003 Mazda 6 Carputter [Updated]

Ah, finally. From the day i first got the idea (somewhere a year ago), to stumbling onto this site, after 3 months of getting the parts and fabricating the parts. Stage 1 of the install is complete!@ *excited*

This is actually my first car + it's brand new. So i took my sweet time working on the pieces, didnt want to break anything! Here are some pics:

The victim:

Some MDF + carpet + computer parts:

Being a computer background and all i wanted to build something to show off. Hence the window and led's:

Wiring took me an entire day to finish, ran a TON of wires. In case anyone is wondering.. yes that is 4AWG, and no i dont need that to power the computer. It's there for the amps that will be installed sometime soon
(once i finish everything with computer)

- First test! It's alive!@#

Screen install:

Interior work finished:

Red button on the bottom is the on/off, and yes it is win XP

New Night shots - Finished fiberglass enclosure in spare wheel well for my amps and installed led lights in interior

Night shot of my setup!

Night shot of my carputter and amp install

- Lots of testing and software work to do still, but damn i'm happy with the way it turned out! Actually had someone point to my car today too for the first time about it. Stopped on a light and the guys behind me saw the screen and where all over it.

It wasn't as much for actual cooling, rather.. it made the harddrive installation VERY easy. All i had to do is drill 4 holes in the back of the case and screw in the cooler with attached drive.

That button is from "bulgin". You can find some info on it here:

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...roducts_id=784

Bulgin site seems to be down :/ I got the button from ADP Mods (Can retailer, cost me $35Can!!) Expensive, but sure looks nice.

If you're interested, this site: http://www.iconstyling.com/shopprodu...80952411689815

Has a lot of buttons like bulgin. Also expensive though!

--- Just spent an hour to make a custom boot skin lol. What a **** it is! Took me the longest time to get the progress bar to work

Cheers,

Nope, suprisingly! I was afraid that it would be, but behind the tint you can hardly see it. During the day you cant see it all, at night it glows sligthly. But either way, i'm not planning watching movies & driving, so even if they stop me... GPS!

Funny, i've already convinced myself i'm going to throw it away and fiberglass an enclosure for it! Just need some decent weather again, it's been miserable for past 5 days.
