I have no idea about the setting in the bios as mine was on when I got my laptop off Ebay. I don't have a working battery (yet), so I don't put it in hibernate yet.

Yeah I just had issues with the HIbernate on it working with Frodo. Whenever I hibernate the laptop, the sound goes down to mute and the only way to get sound coming out of hibernation from Frodo is to go through the control panel and turn it on manually. Really weird. I think its a Frodo thing and not a laptop issue.

I also have the f2025a, and I'm trying to rig a power switch to it. I thought I had it all figured out. Just solder the new switch's leads to the contacts of the old. But then I opened it up and saw this:
The switch is the lower tiny black box, the one with three contacts. Can anyone help me figure out if I can still do this? I'd try shorting a couple at a time, but when it's installed, you can't access the leads. All you can see is the back.
EDIT: I did some testing with a multimeter, and found that with the switch off, pins 1 and 3 are connected. When the switch is on, pins 2 and 3 are connected. Pins 1 and 3 are not connected when the switch is on.
I could try soldering a lead to each of the three contacts, and see what shorting those does, but I thought I'd ask first.

Doesn't look like anyone saw my question. No worries, though. I've got it set now.
Just in case someone wants to do the same thing in the future, here's what I found.
Figuring that it is the state of the pins when the switch is on that's important, I soldered the wires to pins 2 and 3. Worked like a charm. I can now power up and shut down my laptop from the comfort of the drivers seat.
Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same dock.

Just in case anyone wants to know, there is no need to rip apart the docking station, and wire up a switch. The HP Pavilion N5190 has a build-in BIOS feature that turns on the power automatically when it senses power from the docking station/port replicator. I just hibernate mine, and when I turn the key on, it comes back up where I left off. Even my winamp kicks in where the song left off..

Ok, my screen is down. I diagnosed the problem. Appearently, due to design, the ribbon cable on the Xenarc 700IDT gets pinched by the screen when it is out and up. Over time it will sever connections within that cable. The solution (I believe) is to VERY CAREFULLY dremel the offending lip off the bottome of the back of the screen housing. In my opinion, Xenarc should do this from the factory. The pictures will explain:

Not yet. I need to get it RMA'd, and I'll need the invoice from the company that sold it to me. They contacted the rep at Xenarc they deal with, and still haven't heard back from them. I Xenarc customer service generally like that? Hard to get a hold of?

My screen arrived at Xenarc Dec. 29th, 2005. I wonder when it will return. Anyone else ever have their screen RMA'd?
