I just talked to Xenarc, and my screen is on the way back now. It was shipped out on the 6th, and is supposed to arrive TODAY!!

Put my screen back in the other night..man I am glad to have working GPS again. Now I have to work on getting music going again sicne my Headunit went out... Thinking of running an AMP only, and doing the Sirius to USB mod for the win...

Ok, so the next thing I plan to do is run a 5-channel amp, and do the Sirius to carpc mod. Don't want to put another headunit back in my ride.

I don't have the 700-IDT but right now it's my top choice and I might be ordering it in the next day or two.
On page 4 of this thread you posted two pictures with an explanation of cutting/dremeling off a "lip" which pinches the ribbon cable when the screen is tilted. I looked at those two pictures but I can't figure out which part is the "lip" which needs to be cut away. If you'd be willing, could you do a quick mock-up in MS Paint.. just circle the area with a red circle so it's a little clearer? Please?
Also, did you RMA the whole unit, and did they replace the ribbon cable?
Did you dremel that lip off the unit when you got it back?
Are there any warranty issues with cutting away a piece of the frame, even though it's to repair a design flaw?
Does the 700-IDT let you control how far back the unit tilts? My dashboard is on a slight angle, not completely vertical, and I would want the unit to tilt probably no more than 75deg from the horizontal, not a full 90deg.
Finally, are you pleased overall with the 700-IDT? Were you able to get 800x480 working on it?

After the ribbon cable went out again, I am again without a screen. Its time to get a screen and fiberglass.

I ended up getting a replacement cable directly from Xenarc (since the cable from mp3car.com that I ordered was too short for my 700-IDT). I changed the cable out, and it works fine again. Just make sure if you ever have to do this, that you pay attention to the way the old cable was folded.

Looks like I will be redoing my setup, due to me getting new seats for the car. I already have the VIA EPIA M10000. Now I am trying to figure out how to get noise-free sound!
