Hey Pudge,

I have a 99 Tib my dash is exactly the same. Could you possibly write up a DIY or just give me a quick rundown on how you did it. I like your setup but i was thinking of the taking the drink tray out and mod'ing it to fit a slimline cd drive. but that would depend on the amount of space behind the lcd screen. is there enough space back there once you take out the HD and little cubby hole? Also i dont have an audio system other than the stock one all the posts i have seen everyone has subs and amps and all that is it really needed? Basically wondering if i could just wire it right to my current stock system.

You can take the cup holder apart and actually mount a slimline drive inside the housing. That makes it super easy to mount the drive, just bolt the housing back in. I hacked up the original cup holder section you push to release, and kept that covering the slimline drive when not in use. I had that setup for a while, had to put a section of AS sheet between the drive and housing to get the drive at just the right height.

There is enough space behind the radio fascia to actually mount a complete mini-itx setup. Eventually, that's what I will do. For now, mine is under the seat in a c134 case.

Get an amp.

i was looking in the store and thinking about the OPUS. If i get it with the CD i can still take it out right its not like its mounted in the computer i should be able to just run a cable to it right? and the amp will run just the stock speakers that wont be to much power will it? I guess that will allow me to upgrade to a system later on. Probably should be postin in the noob section but should the carputer hook up through the amp?
