You can take the cup holder apart and actually mount a slimline drive inside the housing. That makes it super easy to mount the drive, just bolt the housing back in. I hacked up the original cup holder section you push to release, and kept that covering the slimline drive when not in use. I had that setup for a while, had to put a section of AS sheet between the drive and housing to get the drive at just the right height.
There is enough space behind the radio fascia to actually mount a complete mini-itx setup. Eventually, that's what I will do. For now, mine is under the seat in a c134 case.
