Ok, finally got some pics, even if the quality kind of sucks. So, here is the install in a 2000 Monte Carlo SS:

The car

An image of my XP desktop

Shot of the dash

Running MediaCar

DVD/CD player in console area

Trunk view of where it all is mounted.

View with the backseats down

The Gyration KB/Mouse RF receiver on the back speaker panel.

The monitor is mounted with customized brackets and screwed into the frame using the existing holes for mounting the stock HU. Now that I know everything is good to go, next free weekend I have I will be pulling the dash and painting the monitor casing flat black and touching up a few spots in the dash.

I'll also be adding a 2nd amp to push 2 10" Subs that I will be making some custom boxes for, but might be a bit as my next project involves some Eibach Pro Springs and new struts/shocks to lower the car some. (my existing suspension is about shot).

Why is the stock radio sitting in the trunk? Is it doing anything?

Basically convenience. It's the easiest way to reset the warning indicators and change car settings. It will eventually get hidden

Not bad! Nice workaround when you don't want to cut the dash

Cool man, it'll look really good when you head the stock HU and clean up some of the wires.

that is awesome you've inspired me to do the same type of set up.

I did have one good question.
How do you get the factory stereo out? i didn't want to pull too hard and break anything. I didn't find any info on the internet showing how to remove the stereo. but i do want to have an awesome system like yours and can't even begin lol thanks for the patience im a noob.

RE:relocating OEM radio

Thanks for the reply. I've actually gone with the aux input. I think it was a gma11 or something like that. I got it from a place in Austin, TX. They had an ebay store. the reason i went that route is it gives me 2 aux inputs and uses the factory HU to access them. No switches like some other aux inputs. Thanks for they help and keep this great site going.
