2000 Impreza done ! (56k beware if you follow the link)

About time I posted this, my install is now " finished " for the third time !

first install was stealth in an old cd shuttle case, then baremounting of components on top of the sub woofer box, finally I decided to build a false floor idea, mainly inspired by jaxPT's work with his cruiser.

The basics are: no headunit
ave amps and speakers
satnav
mp3/ape etc
normal cd
fm radio

future plans
Ecutek delta dash for OBD11 and more using live tuning feature

The pc specs are

Gigabyte ATX mobo
256MB RAM
40GB Samsung HDD (Laptop)
Bu 303 GPS
CARTFT.com version of the lilliput which is awesome and I have had not one issue with it
170w DC/DC power supply - survives crank while still playing music / dvd
Self designed but probuilt startup / shutdown controller
GeFrorce 4 FX 5200 VGA card
D link wi fi
Aopen DVD rom with ide to usb converter (powered by 2 small dc/dc power supplies one for the 5v rail, the other for stable 12v)
Logitech Play station keyboard
clicker cordless mouse
griffin powermate
4 port usb hub hidden under gear lever ( powered by 5v rdc/dc power supply that supplies the DVD drive)
Bluetooth dongle
Dlink fm radio

sound specs

mids and tweeters in stock location up front
pioneer 6x9 in rear parcel shelf
2 x 12 inch pioneer subs (not present in photos)
1 starsound crossover running off on board sound from mobo, this provides the split to the sub as the mobo runs on 4 channel surround.
1 amp for front / rear speakers
1 amp for subs
1 stiffening capacitor that supplies everything in the boot
total weight = 80kgs !

car

MY2000 Subaru Impreza GT (classic shape)
upgraded turbo
cold air induction, samco hoses
aquamist water injection
AP racing 4 pot brakes
Graham Goode braided brake hoses / sway bars
2 stage boost control

all this results in a 1/4 mile of 13.1 with over 220whp on 1.2 bar boost

heres the link my site, sorry about the shaky pictures !

my photos

any questions pm me

once all completed all i can say is wow what a blast ! ! absolutely amazing and well worth the effort and money

and for me, since I am in Johannesburg, South Africa this car is definetly an African first

****, that's not bad at all. That console is very tidy indeed. How's the screen viewing at that position?

thanks, the screen is actually very easy to see and with the powermate provides a tactile control for use when in motion, it works for me
