Thanks. I used to use his skin but there's not a Media Engine version. There's one for Media Car but I ME has more features. Feb has a skin for FP but it's not for 800x600 "stretched"

Yes I did have a monsoon system. I got rid of the HU and Monsoon "amp" (it's really just a crossover). I replaced them with a 4 channel amp. The speakers are aftermarket components as well.

Here's a pic of the carputer, amp, and soldered leads fo the speaker leads on the monsoon harness.

did you have to purchase a VGA extender to reach the monitor in the front dash? What about the USB for the touchscreen (did you hook that up to your USB hub)? Also, for the cd-rom drive, did you have to use a IDE to USB converter? I am also thinking about placing my computer in the back, but I'm just not sure what would be the best way to connect everything from the front. This will be my first carPC, and don't have the experience.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I ran most of wires and cable almost two years ago so I don't remember the exact lengths. I bought a VGA extender cable it's 10' or 12'. I also ran a 10' USB extension cable and a single 10' USB cable that goes into a 4-port powered USB hub. I ripped a IDE -> USB 2.0 Adapter from a external case and used that for the in-dash front slot-load DVD/CDR combo drive. I don't have any signal issues with the long runs. Go for it.
