ya, the little CD Player hole is smaller than a DIN. What I did in my brother's yukon was make it a little storage nook for like the remote for his HU, or any other little thing you might want to put there.

Wow that is impressive. Very Impressive. I like the fact you didnt hack up your dash in order to mount the monitor. I also like the text on the CD Changers... "PLEASE KEEP DOOR CLOSED" thats great. Superb Job.

Nice install!!
Nice install rulouder! I just got a 2001 Denali (same style as yours) and I'm looking to do an install similar to yours. Is the CD player in the dash a CD-ROM or is it the factory unit? If it is a CD-ROM, how did you modify the factory unit? Also, where did you get your front grill? Any forseeable problems before I start?

Hey thanks man. No, the CD player in the dash is just the stock CD player, not a cdrom. I got the grille from Ebay for like $30. It's not the kind that just 'clips' in, you actually have to cut out the old grille for this one to look right. A little more work but it pays off. Everything was pretty straight forward, I would recommend using an AUX converter for sound though (so that you can utilize the factory amp and sub - unless you're planning on putting in an aftermarket amp/sub.)

I had same problem with a usb gps being a serial ballpoint mouse, everytime I plugged it in the pointer went crazy and I could not control windows, it was very hard to disable it because as soon as you unplugged it, the ballpoint dissapered from device mangler.
Took about 15 mins of cable wriggling to try to get it to appear long enough for me to right click/disable before the gps stream started.........
Like you install.
Is that cd changer kenwood? the metalwork looks just like the old kenwood 10 disk changer.

Need some info
Trying to do the same install in a 2000 Denali that I bought last summer. I can do the computer install part for sure, but not sure about fabrication. If this user can get me a link to those pics and such, it'd be appreciated!

I'm not sure that the pics of an almost three years old post could still be hanging around...

U are probably right, but if I did a huge install in my truck like this one, I would probably have kept the pics barring hard drive failure... Good thing my stuff is on RAID!

Wow! I haven't touched this thread in a while! My server crashed a while back and I never thought to restore these when I rebuilt it. Good thing I'm a pack rat when it comes to images! Check the front page again - I fixed them.
I actually sold this truck last year and gutted everything out of it. I transplanted everything into my '96 Explorer. I'll get some pictures and start a new thread for it. This time I gutted the inner dash and fiberglassed the lilliput into the front bezel.
