2001 VW Jetta CarPc Install
Hello!
i´m from germany and will show you my CarPc Projekt here.
by the way - sorry for the bad english ;-)
Hardware:
Athlon Xp3000+
Nvidia Geforce FX5950 U
1GB DDR Ram
Creative SB Audigy 2
Maxtor 250GB HDD 3,5"
Logitech USB gamepad
Keysonic Usb Tastatur (brushed aluminium)
Navilock Gps - Mouse Usb,
MSI Bluetooth Dongle Usb
AV-Rear + Frontcam, + USB logitech Webcam (pro4000) incl. usb-microphone.
Tft Xenarc TSV 700
Siemens Gigaset USB WLan Adapter
Software:
WinXp sp2 nlite image, C.E.S. 3.1, Map&Guide Travelbook4 Europe (GPS), , PS Emulator, N64 Emulator. Games Doom III , Need for Speed Underground 1/2, Gladiator, Prince of Persia Sands of Time, GTA Vice City...and lot of films and mp3´s
The carpc is installed in a VW Jetta TDI, upped to 165hp - 380nm
Brock b4 8,5 * 17" 2-part polished wheels and bridgestone 225/45 Tires, some special exterior and interior and a Special KW winding alighting gear.
for the xenarc tft i have made a aluminium case (handmade brushed look for the vwgolf4 r32 interieur) that i can adjust the angle electrical(for the better contrast of the display).

this is right...but games like nfsu or doom 3 on a carputer like this harware and theres a lot of fun...;-)
i have a BICKER BES620 ATX powersupply, ist from a german dealer.
9-18V input, 12V output, 300Watt

how is the screen moving in and out? and the deck where is it located and the wire you ran to the faceplate is it cat5? very neat install man by far one of the best i seen so far.

i have adapt the mechanic from the jvc- radio to the aluminium border and center console of the vw.
the jvc self is in the glove box, its only the actuator on the headliner. the actuator is
associated with the jvc on two cat5 wires.
there was no other place for the actuator ;-)

first of all...BEAUTIFUL install, specs are a bit too insane, even for me  What emulator are you using for the PSX, and for the N64, and additionally, what kind of controllers are you using for these games. I have 2 wireless PS2 controllers w/ usb adapter...but still trying to get my newer games working...

you should just get wireless xbox controllers... they are already usb :P
