1997 Chevy Trukputer - DONE! Lot's O' Pics! WHOOO HOOOO!

Well, Finally. After much blood, sweat and cuts, she is done. I'm not a pro like alot of you here, this is my first job. So, be what it may, I'm proud of it. Here is what I got:

Computer:
DWW-7VGA
VIA EPIA MII-12000
Opus 90W PSU
60GB 3.5" Hard Drive
512MB DDR PC2700
CDRW/DVD Combo Drive
802.11G PCMCIA
USB Bluetooth Adapter
Motorola v710 Bluetooth Phone
BlueLogger GPS
Griffin Powermate
1GB USB Thumbdrive (for easy file transfers)
Hauppauge WinTV 401 TV/FM Tuner Card

Stereo System:
2x 12" Elemental Designes 13kv.2
1200 Watt Audiobahn Amp for subs (A2150HCT)
MTX Audio 6.5" Components
200W Sony Amp (Component power)
Clarion 7 band Equalizer (EQS744)
Power Distrobution block
Lots and lots of wire.

Here are a couple quick shots to get your mouth wattering. Some of them are in black and white, I like them. A complete picture album can be found at:
http://www.dvdxml.com/gallery/
Updated: 03/19/07

Monitor pulled out and Griffin Powermate just chillin' in FrodoPlayer. (Thanks Frodo!)

Monitor retracted into dash. Nothing here to steal. Be on your way.

Half-*** shot of computer, amps and EQ mounted behind the back seat. Kinda hard to get back there and get a decent shot.

I think this one is self-explanitory. BOOM BOOM BOOM!

USB Hub hiding under the drivers side dash. One spot left for the USB Thumb drive when I need to transfer stuff in a hurry!

Nice setup - I think I love the box best out of everything - did you fab that yourself?

Also, since you are using one of those in-dash units, does it rattle when you drive or shake?

Thanks. Yes, I built the box myself with the 19v cordless toolset I got for Christmas. If you look in the first picture you can see the big *** light that came with the set.

To answer your other question, it bobs up and down while I drive, but you can't notice it unless you stare at it real close. I would say it only moves up and down maybe 1mm or so. Very minute. No rattling though. It stays in place too for the most part, unless (like a few minutes ago) I'm stupid enough to fly over a bump because I didn't see it, then it moves down about an inch.

Tahoe's are nice. I wouldn't mind having one but probably never will. My wife is getting her 2004 honda accord in 2 months. Then, if things work out, I will get my 97 Supra TT. I'll keep the truck though.

I got the sub grills from www.partsexpress.com. If you go there, search for "Subwoofer Grill" (no quotes) and they have a few different types. They also have the same ones I have in black. I liked chrome.

It's exactly the same as my Pioneer Premier DEH-P760MP that I just pulled out of my truck. Except for one station that "crackles" a little bit when I drive, and I don't care because it's not a station I listen to (hispanic music). I'm very happy with it. I made a special cable and hooked it into my stock antenna on the truck. I thought about putting an in-line signal amplifier on the line just to see if it got any better. I still might, who knows.

100% Sure. Thanks. I had another one lined out, but it never fully made it into the truck. I liked this idea much better.

Well, it seems I have excedded my bandwith, so unless someone wants to be kind enough and host the pictures for me, they will be gone for a while. LOL.

97 single cab

Props on your install, looks real nice. Are you sure its your first time?

I have a 97 Chevy single cab, and am wondering what choices I have when it comes to a sound system. What would hit the most? I really dont want to do a bed cut if possible.
