EDIT: First post updated, so this follows some of the build, however full worklog is available on my website, in the 'Building the Car PC' section in the 'Installs' section.
OK, so now you know about the current version...
The next version is now on the way though!
The lilliput is going in the dashboard, so now I've bought a new fascia panel to get the screen modded into...
I've sent the screen off to Chris at Car-Tech demoncartech@hotmail.com who's doing an excellent job of fabricating to look OEM.. Here's a picture he sent yesterday that shows the job so far...
As I'm getting rid of the head unit, I've bought an amp to do that job...
I'll let you know more as it happens..

The screen install is underway. I picked up the screen from Chris at Car-Tech on Saturday.
Now I've got it the next step was to test fit everything/

Off it comes the original fascia panel

And on goes the new one with screen installed! As it's just a test fit I didn't screw the heater controls back in but know it's gonna fit.
Massive size versions by clicking on the pictures here... http://www.stevieg.org/carpc/install/building/v4.html
Once I've sorted the boot install, It'll be sorted proper in the next few weeks.

Right... Feeling ill this weekend so not done as much as I planned, but still got somewhere...
First of all I've done the lilliput auto on mod - http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/lcd-display/24047-my-solution-auto-power-lilliput-screen.html
and it works really well!
and wired the system all up on the test bed to check for one that the lilliput still works...
Next though is sorting the OS - XP on the VIA 800 is quite slow with Centrafuse (which I want to use for the time being) so I'm going to have to look at my various options to get the most out of the hardware!

I was using VOICES, next version will use 0l33t's stuff or something custom based on SAPI 5.1, it's easy to program.
