Thanks man! The CPU is ghetto for now - wire tied to a trunk tie-down and the child seat strap. Some time this week (hopefully), we're gonna fire up the mig welder and make a bracket. There is a REAL nice mounting point on the side of the trunk that is currently used as a spot to secure a tie-down bracket. I'll be using the mounting bolts and holes to secure my L-bracket using the factory tiedown bolts and holes. And using thumb screws to mount the CPU to the bracket - the same blue thumb-screws that hold the front cover in place. I'll post pics once it's done.

Right now, it's pure ghetto with computer speakers sitting in the back seat. I'll have more info. on this solution later in the week. But with dad being an EE, he's shipped me a solution to boost my line level outputs to the speaker level outputs the Monsoon amp is looking for. It's really nothing more than a pre-amp. Once I've tested it and know it works, I will make sure the solution is posted here, as well as vortex, so all these folks with VW can stop spending all that time and money replacing all their components after a radio swap or carputer install... unless, of course, they still really WANT to.

"Vette - it's what's for dinner." Actually I think I'll find it more entertaining to hand a Viper driver his a$$! I wasn't taking offense to your comments and I'm glad to hear you've encountered one of these first-hand. They're crazy little cars and the best part is nobody suspects them!
And thanks for another compliment.

 You rock Frodo!
Everytime I fired up the carputer, I would switch past the Mp3s and go straight for XM. So that's the way I set the car up - to load your XM app on start-up. That way it automatically starts XM up and all is good in the world. Now, if that little issue of the station returning to Preview on boot-up was resolved, the app would be perfect.

From post 10 "That start button REQUIRES A RESISTOR! I fried one before I realized that - [I assumed it was already handled internally]. D'oh! I can't remember the value - I think it was 1.2k Ohm - just enough to drop 5V from the PSU to roughly 2.2 Volts. The buttons are available here in different colors. And I DID get that idea from someone else on the forum."
