no it wouldnt be a skyline in japan. Its the same as the nissan 350z. And i thought Nissan was the parent company of Infinity. Like Toyota is for Lexus.

First of all if you look at how cars are compared these are probably in the same class. Its kinda weird how its figured. The gap in the base msrp in lower end cars is a lot smaller. But when cars start approaching upper 30's and 40's the gaps are much bigger. Like a 100,000 dollar car and a 200,000 dollar car are in the same category as well. It didnt make sense to me at all until i started selling cars and someone explained it to me. Yeah the 350z and Corvette are in the same category. SHouldnt be at all though. But with toyota and mazda dropping out the the sport coupe race they dont have much else to compare it too. IT really should be compared to a mercedes SLK a BMW z-3 or Z-4 and a lexus 430(?) but these are considered luxuray cars where as the 350 isnt. I dont even know if the corvette is or not. Never checked on that. And youre right the vette will demolish the 350 in straight line or oval track racing. But when it comes to hard sharp cornering the vette does seem to fall behind. Ive driven the **** out of my bosses vette where i sold cars at but ive only ridden in a 350 and thats been my experience thus far. But we could go on about this forever
sorry bout the last post didnt see anyone cleared that up yet

I'm sorry but who cares. This thread is showing off his INSTALL, not comparing which car is better. Until we see an install in a car that runs in the same category as AOL's G35c, I wouldn't worry about flexing nuts. Save that for another thread.
Enjoy the install, and drool over it......cause most of us either can't afford one, don't live in California, and don't have a cool dog. LoL
Keep up the good work AOL. Any more pictures are appreciated

Youre joking right. G35 is the skyline in Japan. You should do more research before trying correct others. Nissan is the parent company of Infinity and I would go so far as to guess the reason for there being two companies is because us big headed materialistic Americans (and whoever else gets the double brand treatment) need to have the special badging in order to feel more important. Blah... who cares. If you look at my first post in this thread it wasnt meant in no way to knock down the Corvette or compare different models of the same car but just giving the guy props on a car that is being reckognized here in the US as one monster of a car in sales and popularity. Thats it.
SnyperBob is correct. This thread is about aoLhaTer's G35. Sorry if what i said got your thread jacked. Now back to the topic. I have a special interest in this car because ive been a big Nissan fan for years and own a first gen
Altima. My next car is going to be either the G35 or 350z. I personally prefer the 350z because of the focus more on speed/power but this is one cool @ss G none the less. Keep up the good work.

The structure of the LCD mount is made out of plexiglass and the frame is made out of aluminum
god_of_cpu has scheduled the release of a new frame that fits the lcd better and Ill likely be switching to that when released
This project is really a never ending one and Im planning more and more things. Small steps though
Ive relocated the GPS reciever from the rear deck to underneath the front dash. I recieved poor signal in the back most likely because of the on glass radio antenna. The dash is nothing but plastic so I should get a good lock.

(black puck is the GPS reciever)
Putting it here also puts it out of sight and lessens clutter
Later I will be purchasing the IOGear GWU513 USB wifi device and putting that in the same under dash location.

have you tried to actually get lock there... in my G, i couldn't worth a damn... if you still can't get lock there, try up on the TOP of your rear window, basically so that the "dot matrix" crap covers the receiever. Of course make sure the magnet side is face down.
I typically get 6-9 satellites there.
But if you get some signal in the front, all the more power to you.

Always problems
Its weird though because if you get the stock nav option the factory gps reciever is right where I put mine; doesnt make sense
