OK, I'll think about that, and thanks for the encouragement.
Whats with the "back on the road" bit, did you steer right and the car go left , or something ?

Nah the clutch went and so got that fixed, then with the box off they found a massive oil leak around the crankshaft so ordering parts for that. Whilst all this has been happening (3 weeks now) I have been driving a bmw and am really thinking about changing the focus... We shall see what happens!
Anyways, looking good!

Is there anywhere in the UK that sells this sort of thing as I have been looking for this for a while and never found anything. Also with the gps I have not found a PC version of any of the main software. Things like tomtom and the like. They are all for the Ipaq and stuff.

There are loads of places selling this kit. Some sell parts, others parts and systems. The best part of this game is building them for yourself though.
The shop on this site is a good start..navigate to mp3car/store. Also try LinITX.com & Google ( type in ITX and see what you get !)
Also navigate to Monkey Map and Road Runner, on this Forum. Powerloc Destinator 3 can be implemented on PC, the above area's will show you how to do it.

ViaMichelin Mapsonic 3.5 installs a PC version as well as a PDA one, but i dont know if you can install it if you have zero pdas on your PCs. Otherwise yes Map Monkey is i think the best one although you need maps from a retail version of Destinator 3.

Wizz,
Impressive build. I'm planning to build a Carputer in my Focus, allbeit less impressive. What was your solution for the audio output? Did you use a aux input to the ford head unit? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

That's exactly how it was done, and it works quite well with having volume control on the steering column. I see Stevieg is offering you an aux adapter, you will also need a ground loop isolator to ensure minimum electrical noise on the audio circuit. The're available from Maplins for less than a tenner.
EDIT: Just in case you are wondering, the CD6000 has gone to the glove box ( with a bit of chopping out !)

Sorted the aux input adaptor with Steve and acquired a ground loop isolator from Maplins (£7.99). Almost ready to install to my Focus, just a power issue to mobo to sort out.
Thanks for your help guys.

I'm using a iCue book pc with 6pin power supply to the motherbord (sfx psu to micro atx, I think). The hard drive, cd rom and floppy are powered from the motherboard. I want to use dc-dc power supply, due to space if nothing else, but most seem to have 20 pin atx output.
Just received advice on another thread to use and adapt the P1280. Will check this out later tonight. Maplins did not have any advice for this issue.

Not familiar with the iCue pc, but if the psu has only 6 pins get a meter on them and check out the voltages...you'll know what you are dealing with then.
