thanks for the compliment and welcome to the forum.

if you put the computer in the center storage compartement you shouldn't have any issues but i would put an exhaust vent to get some hot air out of that area. but where are you going to put your sub? :-)

as far as closing the top over the computer, no issues there. the top comes to a 'v' when it's folded so it doesn't cover the computer completely, it still allows plenty of air flow.

personally i would bite the bullet and toss the stock h/u. i'm not a big fan of the goosenecks, i think they don't really do any car justice.

herre is the new installment of my computer and audio system:

Hey Scott,

I'm brand new to this mod stuff but it looks amazing. I have a c5 and I want to put a double din headunit in. Where/How did you mod the center console to go from the stock 1-1/2 din, din, din configuration. Did you have to buy a new console???

i wrote up a faq over there and it shows how to modify your radio surround for a double din head unit

I have to say, that even though I am a Ford man, this is one sexy beast you have there Great job, luv the attention to detail, and the LCD looks factory! Great....

Certainly a lot one can learn from your install.

Good work, Scott.

thanks guys it feels good to get praise among my peers. the new install is near completion. it's not going to be as clean as this one... those amps are just amazing from a design standpoint and my new amps are horrible but hopefully it'll be worthy of the time spent.

thanks again

Xenarc Transflective?? I didn't know there was such a beast??

I have my Xenarc flushed into my dash and I took so many hours to get it there I would hate to have to get a Lilli bezel and replicate it all... where can I get one??

Center Piece

Where did you get that center piece allowing you to move the climate controls down, allowing a bigger area for installing the GPS unit?

sorry about the delay, i missed this. the transflective xenarc was a special order thing from a group buy on the boards. The company will not do it again unless there is a run of 10 of the exact same screens. do a search and you'll find it.

It was all custom. if you go to the corvette forum and look at the c5 faq in the audio section you'll find a how-to that i wrote up.
