There's a lot of info in the FAQ section.
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/faq-emporium/
There's also a fabrication section.

About the heat, just get a PC that doesn't generate any heat. That helps a lot. Note that mbkowns was using a mobile celeron and now has a mobile P4. I have a AMD 3000+. These 3 systems generate very low heat. My CPU fan stays off mostly and when it does turn on, it will turn slowly and then cycle off again. You will get some heat overall, but a single fan to circulate air is usually enough. Certain EPIA motherboard/CPU's don't even need a fan. You just need to read up on these things. A CarPC is made pretty differently.

It's a pretty steep learning curve so it takes time to get a good grasp on it. Don't ask neebie questions or else you'll get flamed. Just study the FAQ and believe me, any questions you may have has already been answered somewhere here before.
PM someone if you need a quick answer and haven't found it by searching. You can ask me if you want or if it's Mustang specific, mbkowns.

Man you really have skills. Almost everything looks really really good.
Everything is pimp except for the texture job and paint on the bezel. Flat on glossy on flat looks really cheesy. Really fine texture and cottage cheese texture on really fine texture looks not so good.
Another 2 hours on that screen bezel and some propper paint matching will make it look OEM. Right now it sticks out like soar thumb

Thanks
The bezel was actually just a headrest shroud made by xenarc. I have since done a way better job to this but I haven't put pictures of it up yet I will but its not done yet. Slot load dvd drive up front and the screen is mounted into a frame built for aftermarket radios for the mustang. Custom Volume knobs also are built into the dash console piece.
I will get pictures up when I am fully done just got some wiring to clean up and I just moved to a new house so my time is getting owned right now.
thanks again

Well I made the holes for the volume knobs. The left side is the main volume and the right side is the bass volume. The screen is a xenarc that is fit into a metrakit. I also made a slot load dvd drive fit below that. Almost complete need to clean up the screen and fit the volume knobs in.
COMMING SOON !

@mbkowns I also have an '05 Mustang GT.
I have wanted to do an install from day one I am still in the planning stage but have started getting a few parts. I am very curious about the slot load drive you got. How did it fit? Do you have any pictures of the back of the screen and drive together? Did you just dremal the dash kit? Any info would be great because having an easily accessable drive is important to me.

Just a general question. Do you get any noise from the DVD drive being right up front?
I was going to put a dvd drive in the back where any noise from it would be less noticable.
I'm just thinking of those moments when the car is parked, engine off, windows up and the interior is dead quiet. If you listen to classical music or stuff with quiet passages I've noticed noise from some CD players. That little tracking noise as the lens moves as well as motor noise.
Anyway, just wanted to ask somebody about that and figured you might know.

I know what your talking about. Some dvd players make less noise then others. I really don't notice this one making noise. I like the feature of having it upfront.
Let me know if you need more.

that shroud, or metrakit, where did you get it from? Did you have to do any modifications to the shroud?

Sweet install. I haven't seen an install in the new mustang models yet. You definitely have to make it to one of our so cal meets to show it off.
