Jason

You listen to music with the car parked, engine off, and windows up in HOUSTON IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER and the CD player tracking noises are what bothers you most?

Wow. ;-)

I'm pretty sure I didn't say summer, but yes, it has.

Seeing a GT held back by an Automatic makes me cry on the inside At least you have a phat install to make up for it... Any recent pictures or upgrades? I need more ideas to steal for my upcoming install!

Very nice! So is your computer booting out of hibernation? I purposely disable that feature. I just want the computer to be completely disconnected from my battery when off, so I don't really need hibernation. I just want it to load iTunes so I can select a category and hit PLAY ahaha.

I'm not sure you understand what hibernation is. It writes all the data in the RAM to the HDD in a special boot file and then powers down completely. There is no power draw and you can disconnect the power if you need to. Then when you boot the PC it just loads all the data as it was stored and your right back to where you left off.

Suspend or S3 is the method that holds a charge on the RAM for super fast boots.

You're right. I got it mixed up with suspend after saving RAM contents to the hard disk.

With my setup, I literally yank power from the computer when I turn off my car, but I can still formally shut it down if I like. I don't want to leave power on for a few seconds to let it hibernate. The ignition turns on the relay to connect the battery to the PSU, so I like to leave it completely disconnected when the car is off. I know it's a tad

Hey guys, I'm a newbie and currently own a 2007 mustang. From what I've seen on the stang projects, most are using older carputers (or I assume.) My question being, does the G4 not fit flush where the factory (OEM) radio is? I would hate to cut into the dash seeing that I want a clean install as possible without adding fiberglass, urethene, etc.

From what I have seen this isn't ture i ran a 2ghz microatx as more of a proof of concept for my own purposes. The g4 will fit into the dash just fine and fluse also.

Nice Install

Have you have any problems using the 12v from the wiring harness to your power supply?

for the computer psu using the 12v accessory line the stock deck used worked fine and the feature where the radio would come on still after you pull the key was still working.

also what paint did you use? doesn't match your HVAC controls.

SEM satin black. It looks better in person and you can hardly see the contrast, the light reflected a bit on it during the shot.

I'd do things a little different if I needed to do it again. What do you think might be a better color match? (always time to sand and repaint )
