Install:
Carnetix PSU/SSC provides juice to the case and all internals. The Lilliput is powered directly from the car's switched +12v, by just cutting off the cigarette lighter plug and splicing it in. On this Audi, there is no ACC position for the ignition, but the car does provide power to the "doorchime" until the key is actually removed, so that is how I have my carnetix/lilliput/headunit hooked up.

Looks really good. Nice job. You have much more room on you dash then I do, everything is so tight on mine.
Is that wood trim around the screen?
Try to hide the wire thats are coming from the comptuer to the screen, its look better and they won't get in your way.

Now you can come to the NY meet on Sunday at Corona Park. hehe

Thanks, and I was already planning on going to the meet. It's just too creepy for trolls to just show up out of the woodwork, so I had to post this first.

Yeah that is wood around the screen. The car has zebrano all around, and not being able to find any zebrano at home depot, I went for some pine, stained it, and put on about 5 coats of semigloss polyacrylic varnish. It looks decent. Not a perfect match, but it will suffice for now.

Those wires are gone. They were the power supply wires as a result of using an inverter. Once the carnetix went in, those wires were history.

I think it looks really good. I like the finish around your screen

Perhaps i would try to make some kinda front in the compartment under the steerings whell to hide it away a bit more. Perhaps make a front in MDF wood and then put some grey vinyl over it.

I like the keyboard, really smart place to put it, did not think of that my self.

Thanks, I wanted to mention that I like your install as well. I also like how you painted it. And kudos on your door panels.


hmmm... if _only_ there was a picture around that I could use to make a decision.... if only... actually I'm working on trying to relocate the climate control buttons to a more visible location. In that case I will relocate the control unit itself elsewhere to free up some of that precious storage space.


gotta clean it up a bit, but I like having it there. Makes it hard for the passenger to type, but oh well... Having it anchored in place makes it much easier to type with one hand. Still working on one-handed touch typing.

Now I just need to get a 3B engine under the hood. That would be sweet.

Dude! The way the monitor is mounted looks freakin' AWESOME!!! Mad props bro'!!
ALSO!! The same way u made a trim for the screen, you should try something similar around the Keyboard in the visor!!! Make it look either like a wooden trim or a black one... Just to hide some of that foam that shows and make it all look super blended!!
