download the BT remote control software.
What FE do you use? I can send you some of my HID files if you want them.

Alti's 02 alti
Hi, nice install. I'm going through the process of building a car pc right now as well. I'm curious how your dash area looked like before the install. Do you have a before picture? I'm faced right now with a compromise of whether or not I should have a head unit installed. The problem is, my '03 Corolla only has space for a 7" screen, and a head unit would require fabrication, and I don't really know any plastic manufacturer who could make me a few.
One more question, how do you control your volume? Thanks.

Really nothing out of the ordinary as far as wiring up the car. I had to search for a place to go through the firewall and eventually gave up and paid to have the battery cable run as I have a stick and with the slave cylinder and all of the other clutter on the firewall I was too nervous to drill through.
The DVD was pretty easy to install I just removed the door from the compartment and cut out the sides and slide it in. The 02-04 altima dash has SO MUCH room to play with. I have decided to keep the car for as long as possible as i can never fathom being restricted to a 7 or 8 inch screen and most vehicles dashboards do not offer the real estate to do much else. Its funny that this hobby has taken over first priority in deciding what car i drive

Amazing job Alti....I'm getting ready to tackle a similar install in my 1970 chevelle. It's not going to be easy with minimal dash landscape.
Do you have any pictures taken during the dash fabrication? I'm looking for some pointers as i start the fab on this neverending project.

Hey Alti - thanks...getting a good starting reference. I am wondering though what you have mounted behind the screen in your original fab HERE
Also, did you end up covering your frame with fleece or any other material before you used any resins?
Next and last......still new to the carpc (not that a 1970 chevelle didn't come with any factory equipped CPU's)....did you just use a very long IDE cable from the DVD player to the board in the trunk?

are you refering to the curciut boards mounted on the wood screwed to the back of the screen? if so, that is the lcd controller board, inverter for the backlighting, OSD (on screen display control) and touchscreen controller.

I did not use fleece for this application because it has such tight corners. I used Lycra, it is much more flexible then fleece and easier to pull

I used an IDE to USB 2 adapter (its actually built into the case that my slim slot load drive is in, just erun a USB cable.
IDE is only spec'd to 36 inches i think. USB is like 16 feet.
