Its alright, you might get more out of it with a GM, i believe it handles gm's extended codes. The software that came with it is bad, so you might want to look into getting digimoto or another software.
I am going to start looking for a CAN interface, when i started this project, I could not find any, but now there are affordible ones comming out.
Thanks for the complements, I have changed a few things with the install since this threads pictures were taken, I basicly did away with the mdf computer "case" mounted on the back seat, in favor of a biostar ideq case (same thing as a shuttle). It looks much cleaner and smaller
I also ditched the opus in favor of a DSATX that i tested, and I am not using the M7NCG biostar anymore in favor of the Ideq motherboard.

not as much of one as i would like, but i had to slow down for budgetary reasons.
There is 4 channel sound with Dolby right now useing a Soundblaster XFI sound card and the kicker 4 channel amp. I am still running the stock speakers and when i can save up for good quality interior speakers I will replace them. (the stocks are equivlent to infinity reference, so they dont sound bad)

Nice install. Do you ever have any problems with the GPS overheating because of its location in the rear window?
I have the black GR-231 and kinda worried about the temps it will see being in the back window.

I did GPS problems with the holux but they seemed to be related to cold more then summer heat. If the temp was below 35 degrees or so the holux exibited a wierd behavior where it would lock but only refresh location every 30 seconds or so. I seemed to improve as the interior of the car warned up. It was also very finicky about getting locks in the rear window, if it was not in the perfect spot it would have trouble.
I replaced the holux with the globalstat 353. The 353 is great it keeps locks in some parking garages. And it does not matter where i place it in the car. I have not experenced the refresh issue either.

Wow!
Hey Alti... I must say that looks AMAZING!!!! I have a 2002 Altima 3.5SE and would love to do something similar to that... I'm curious what size screen is that in your dash? Looks huge!... also did you post a worklog or anything on parts you used and how you did all that??? I'm currently trying to put a computer into my car and still working out the details as to what kinda screens where they should go TFT or VGA... Maybe you could give some input. thx
Again Amazing work... hope you have a worklog (crosses fingers)

the screen is a 10.4" SVGA.
here is a link to my worklog http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/worklogs/43296-10-4-screen-install-pics-need-opinions.html
and tft screens are commonly vga, it stands for thin form transistor or something like that and is a refference to how the lcd works. I would suggest using a vga screen instead of a composite screen.
Thanks, for your compliments
