no the subs are not bondo. how long would that last?
Thats was the first time I worked with fiberglass. I just followed a couple of online tutorial. Its a little hard to work with, but you get used to it after a little while.

Oh, just a piece of advice to anyone who's going to be figerglassing. NEVER sand fiberglass while wearing shorts.
I learned the hard way.

Question about my own Audi

Great Install by the way. i have the same exact car as you, color and all. i started purchasing things i'll need to do a carputer like the one you have. right now i'm not sure how i'm going to make it all work with the factory speakers or if it can even be done. so far all i have bought is a touchscreen for the front and a Dell Laptop with all the best already installed, the screen was broke so i got it for a good price. If you know what i'll need to incorperated the laptop into my factory system and remove the factory head unit i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Currently, I'm running all factory speaker expect for the subs. I'm using an audigy usb soundcard that is connected to a 4 channel amp. Then I connected all the speakers to the amp. I just connected the wires from the amp directly to the speakers. One of the rear speakers have a small amp connected to it, you going to have to connect the wires after that small amp.

For the front speakers I took the easy way out. I just connected the wires from the amp to the factory wiring harness that connects to the stock head unit. I just tapped into the wire that connect to the front speakers. I didn't want to have to bother with crossovers and **** on the factory speakers. Plus there's something weird with the driver side speaker. Can't remember exactly what but it has to do with the factory phone in the car. But I did leave plenty of extra wire behind the dash for when I want to upgrade the stock speakers, I don't have to rerun more wire.

any other question let me know.

Install

Hey thanks so much for the information, i'm not too up to date on computer tech and if i knew someone to do it i would just pay someone to make one for my car. but haven't found a source for that and since i'm really interested in putting one in my car i figured this was my only way to go. i haven't looked into it but the sound card you said you used. Does that just have RCA outputs that would plug right into an amp? Also Will the soundcard be installed into the laptop or will it be external. Oh and what is that slot below your screen. Is that a CD/DVD slot and if so what model is it? THank you so much for your help. If you want to email me directly its blkcivsi23@hotmail.com

Yes, but it only has 2 outputs, so I used a splitter to make the 4 so it connected directly to the amp.

external

yes, its a cd writer/dvd burner. Its a full size pioneer slot load drive, can't remember the model number. But I would not suggest you use this model if you will be placing it below the screen. It will be VERY VERY tight, a pain in the ***. I had to use a converter for the pins in the back to make it fit, But I dropped the drive last month and broke so I'm looking for a new slim drive which will hopefully fit much easier.

I use a usb sound card, the Sound Blaster MP3+.
http://www.soundblaster.com/products/MP3+/

For the frontends I mainly use Roadrunner and Frodoplayer. Right now i'm using RR more because of better gps intergration. But I like FR better overall.

hey

One more quick question, does your computer shut down evertime you shutt off your car and have to reboot when you start it up. It just seems like that would be a pain to have to wait for that everytime. If there is a good way to keep the computer running while the car is shutt off and just in hybernation mode or something, please let me know. i'm not sure how most people deal with this problem. Thanks again

ah, I think u answered your own question. Hibernation. I personally use stand by, haven't had a problem with the battery yet, but I really don't care. I rather buy a new battery then having to wait 30+ sec to come out of hibernation.
