2001 Goldwing Bikepc :)

Hi all bin reading quite a few of these threads so thorght ide post my project

I am going to fit a Pc to this machine

A 7inch touch screen will be inplace of the small LCD in the dash

with the computer in the boot!
The PC will be going in the topbox in place of the 6 CD player on its anti vib mounts

it will be the mini-itx c800 with a 40Gb 2.5 HD

the Monitor is going on here over the original LCD

Like this!

first off get a new dash.

mark it up loosely

then cut a bloddy big hole in it.

fit rear of the LCD case in correct position.

then glass it in

Sick install, but you gotta say that screen is impairing the driver's vision, no? http://mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=61852

Dam ive had to return and reorder the touch screen. Still it should be here in a day or two. Had problems with VGA sync or lack of. still a good service from mini-itx.com

I think i may go with centrifuse as it handles my phone and GPS (tomtom bluetooth)

computers running on bench.

When have you ever seen a Goldwing out in the rain!! no seriously water should not be an issue as the screen will be in a sealed box like the LCD thats there allready.

the touch screen will be covered by the stuff you use for ovrhead projectors and clamped to the screen with a rubber seal. Clamp will be perspex as its easy to work with.

i dont think waterproofing the screen would be a big deal, however maintaining the touchscreen functionality is another story.

How do you plan on overcoming this?

...you should put this in the worklogs section before someone flames you
