2000 Chevy Suburban install

I moved my install to the truck from the Corvette. Thought I'd post some pictures, as the only people to see any of it are TruckinMP3 and dingofarmer in January. I wasn't finished installing at the time.

I ran 4 guage wire from the engine bay, under the truck and into the cabin under the rear drivers side door. I used a fairly hefty amp install kit from walmart. The PC sits underneath the second row passenger seat on the drivers side. Notice the switchbox I hacked together at the front to turn of power & control whether the PC come on with the ignition. The cables for screen etc run under the floormat and then underneath the center console. Hidden underneath the center console is a gyration keyboard wireless receiver, a USB 2.0 powered hub and a 3-way cigar-lighter adapter. The lilliput screen sits in a plinth that fits in the console cubby hole.

It looks quite good, though I may look into moving the heating controls to the center console and puting a non-motorized in-dash in their place. It performs really good and has no problems with video or iGuidance.

I'll happily answer questions anyone may have :-)

Here is the truck, and the pc under the 2nd row passenger seat:

Here it is with the seat lifted. There is enough clearance for the lit fan to extract properly.

Also a picture of the screen mounted with the RAM mount and the trackball (touchscreen isn't as accurate as I'd like):

A closer picture of the RAM mount and trackball. The cigar lighter with the light has a switch that controls power to the screen, the USB hub and my radar detector. I fabricaated a shelf that sits in my cupholder area to sit the trackball onto.

The wires going under the door will hook up to either my PSP or the Apacer USB-to-go hard disk I transfer files with:

Thanks, its one of these.

Take the AC power supply out and the Opus 150 just fits in its place...on its side...with the case removed....and a teeny bit of modification to the case.

I'll add a picture of whats inside soon.

Hey Pip...
We just upgraded the 97 suburban to an '02 with second row captains chairs. Thinking of following your example on the location of the case

Nice to see the pics. Should we plan a spring meet in '06?

Cheers
