MP3 project for Land Cruiser. Done

The project to install a computer in my Toyota Land Cruiser for easy
access to my extensive audio library is complete.

Pictures first then you can read the rest if you are interested.

Some general pics of the truck

Here is me setting up the MB and software.

Here is the LCD after I took it out of the case it comes in so I could
put it in my own frame.

Here is the case the MB will go in.

Dash install. You can see I mounted it a little crooked. Next time I
am in there I'll adjust it. That has nothing to do with the mount but
just how I bolted it in. It also shows the software I am using in the
truck. It has big buttons that are easily pushable (it is a
touchscreen).

This shows the LCD dash mount dad made on his Mill.

Here you can see the LCD in the frame and also the fiber optic mounted
to the PCB. I still wanted to be able to use the LCD remote control
so I used a fiber optic wire (toslink) and mounted it to transfer IR
from a spot below the dash to the receiver (behind the LCD) It works
like a charm.

A pic of where I installed the shuttle for easy media browsing.

Some pics of the door woofers and ribbon tweeters.

Ahhhhhh my eyes hurt! the rest of the install looked great, but omfgwtf, as a pc builder who does his best to have cables either hidden, sleeved, and routed, that is almost an offensive wiring job! oh well, what works... works!
Other than that back wiring mess, looks great!

LOL, I knew somebody would comment on that. I've never been big on appearances...more of a function guy myself. Still, the dash install looks nice and no wires show in the vehicle at all. That back drawer is a mess though. I could probably clean it up a bit just by extensive use of wire ties. I may do that at some point. That makes tracing wires a little harder when I have to debug some problem in 6 months though. hehe.

Gosh, I don't think I have any pics of the truck around. I'll take some and get back to you.
