Lightbulb uk dash

im currently in the process of figuring out a way in which i can change the angle altogether; which may ultimately mean that i will have to hack away at that trim further to offset it at a different angle. it looks so good and oem, but it's not fscking utilitarian.

I was thinking to change the HU dash with an uk version like this:
and that would bring the screen closer and also change the lcd angle.
I would rather have the screen closer then the ac controls. If I'll install the screen like you did I would have to reach for it every time...
The question is where to buy the dash from?

probably some UK dealer that ships to US or wherever you live.

btw, that won't fit your LHD car, it's a complete mirror image of your car so the dash kit is a mirror image of ours, it won't fit. look closely

it would be awesome if they made that for our cars...that would work perfectly. it looks like some fabrication is required.

I don't know, it looks symmetrical to me:

I can't tell for sure, it might be different... more pics in this thread or here or here or here

Ill tell you this for sure, it wont matter what angle or how close the screen is to you. You still wont be able to see anything when the car is in the sun. Check out this thread, there may be something in the works for the screen issue in direct sunlight

Yeah, the 05 si has that crazy shifter on the console. i dont think that the dash is the same. Im sure it still has the double din opening though, so you should be able to find the same trim piece that DLe and myself used, but for your Si dash. It costs like 15 bucks. Once you have that in hand, you should be able to fit the 7" monitor in the factory opening (double DIN) with a lot of cutting (of the bezel around the monitor).

It does look pretty close doesnt it? ****, might as well try it and see if it works, if it doesnt, you are only out 15 bucks. But if you can find one for the Si, go and get that one and you are all set.

thats the problem i cant find one and im not to sure if they make one or not. i work at best buy Car Audio, and we can usually order anything from our catalogs but i cant find it. so im gonna have to take measurements of that kit and see if it fits. cuz i have a bunch of 05 si single din with pocket kits laying around but they will need alot more chopping up and fabricating. it will look alot better n cleaner with the double din.

uk dash bezel with 8" lcd ?

I've found this picture

on this thread. it's the civic si. I want to get the ex dash bezel, uk version, and install an 8" 4:3 800x600 res lcd touchscreen. I need to find out if the uk dash will fit my car and how much do I have to chop the dash bezel to fit an 8" lcd (do if I have to relocate the buttons on the bottom?). If the uk dash won't fit then I have to modify my own. I have seen only a few 8" lcd installs and I wonder if it's worth the hassle...

I would say stick with a 7" wide screen. the 7" screens can run 800X600 no problem, and it doesnt look bad at all. I have mine set up that way, and it looks very nice. The text is still readable, even when im just interacting with the regular desktop.

Wow, this thread has been a huge help for me and my build on my 2005 Civic. I got lots of ideas, and that bezel.....man, that's pimp. I'm going to order one today so it gets here with my Xenarc. Awesome work, guys, but how did you mount the screen into the bezel exactly? Do you just mount the screen in the dash and then put the bezel in?

That bezel is just a trim piece and nothing else. Functionally is serves no purpose at all. The real important thing is the bezel from the xenarc. Whats left of it after its cut up anyways! That along with the lcd brackets, touchscreen, lcd and the lcd controller are what are mounted into the double din opening. These are held in place with screws and clips from the back. You can sort of make it out in one of the pics that i have posted.
