Well, I closed my worklog thread and started this one, since it is mostly done. The worklog thread is located
here
First, lets start off with the car:
2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT
Stock, it has 298 horsepower from a 3.5 liter V6 to a 6 speed manual transmission.
Here are the modifications I have done so far:
Engine
Crawford high flow cats, HKS Ti True Dual exhaust, free flow intake, MotorDyne MREV modified upper plenum, UR underdrive pulley, GordGee Grounding Gear, JWT Oil Cooler, JWT Oil Pan Spacer (adds 1 quart capacity); approx 330-340 actual HP (haven't dynoed it yet)
Suspension
Stillen Adjustable Sway bars with urethane bearings, GT Spec Rear Tie Brace, Tein Hood Shocks (hold the hood up)
Interior
Nismo Short Shifter, Valentine 1 radar detector, Forged Internals aluminum bullet shift knob, Redline Goods custom leather shifter and ebrake boots, Blitz R-Vit MultiMeter
Audio
Stock head unit, Phatbox 40gB mp3 player, lots of dynamat over everything
Front Speakers: Boston Acoustic Z6 components, bi-amped with a JL Audio 450/4
Rear Speakers: Polk/Momo db650 coax 6500 amped with a JL Audio e2150
Subwoofer: JL Audio 10w6v2 in custom box amped by a JL Audio 500/1
Other: 0/1 gauge wire from battery to block, Streetwires fused power/ground distro block, 4 gauge wire from block to amps, AudioControl LC8 as LOC in order to even out frequency response, dynamat all around, 1.2 Farad Tsunami capacitor
And now, for the part that most members of this board are interested in, the CarPC setup:
LV-673 motherboard
Pentium-M 2.26 GHZ
2 sticks of 512 mb for a total of 1 gB
Ati X300 PCI-X video card w 256 mB
Senao EMP-8602 400mW/26dBm mini-PCI 802.11 a/b/g wireless card
Hitachi 7k100 7200 rpm 100 gB 2.5" HD
Generic slot-load DVD-ROM
DSX12VD (also known as DSX Power Sequencer, a DC-DC power supply)
Seperately, in the glove box, the following:
D-Link 7 Port USB Hub
DVD Drive
The screen is the Digital Wheelz 7", which is a Xenarc 7" TSV (touch screen) modified for use in a G35.
For antennas, I have
3 dbI Mobile Mini Antenna, centered on 2.4 ghZ (for 802.11 b/g)
BU-353 USB GPS Antenna
For input, I have the touchscreen, of course, and the following:
Think Outside StowAway foldable Bluetooth keyboard
MS Wireless USB Laser mini-mouse
For Computer Audio, I have:
Creative USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX
3 Rolls Audio mixers (they take the audio from the head unit, and mix it with the audio from the Audigy)
So, I can have the head unit playing at the same time as I hear navigation from the computer. Or, I can turn off the head unit and listen to 4.1 DVD movies, my MP3 collection, or whatever other computer audio I want.
Finally, some pictures; these first ones are of the car, then the next post will be of the audio setup, and then the CarPC pics.
Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions!
