The only thing one the photo transistor is "V1" and is soldered to the "RE1" point on the board. However these are both generic information that wont help much. I did a little research online, It seems to me that most are very similar. If you want for $5 bucks shipped ill give you this and you can try soldering a three wire lead to it and trying it. Let me know

Alright, next update... and a couple problems... i title it "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" (original dont you think?)

first, the good stuff.

I ripped out the radio and stuff top half of my console... here some pictures

the pieces:

my radio as of now, looks nice... dont you think? everything came out easily no hassles or anything there besides dropping a screw into the dash and having to get it out by blindly swinging my hand in the dash ^^

Second, the frame.... this is where it gets bad...

i did not damage the frame... but, the bezel does not fit in the frame... the left and right sides fit perfectly... but the bezel is too tall to fit perfectly in

is it suppose to eb like this, and if i sand the down... will it fit like it should?

and one other thing - how did everyone else with an 04 rex put it in perfectly? i.e. is mine bent or something?? it looks fine... so what did you guys do?

so yeah, expect alot of work being done now that everything came... i should be done making the case for the PC by tomorrow

Well looks good thus far. Probably sanding will help the screen, I dont know how others with a subaru do it but I assume it has something to do with the screen's bezel modification

Lastly: The ugly.... i have been suspended from school for 5 days for "hacking" i.e. playing a video game on the computer... so yeah, expect alot of work being done now that everything came... i should be done making the case for the PC by tomorrow

LMFAO. Well at least suspended for a good reason and now you have time off to work on the PC

Oh, BTW did u want the reciever i have?

And maybe, and i dont know if you want to do this, but sanding/cutting the console of the subaru is in order for the screen to fit. Because the screen bezel is metal it may cause problems.

But then again, i dont know how much damage you want to do to the subaru

i was going to sand the console... i checked with my subi dealer as well earlier, and told them "the panel on the front is broken, could i just pckup another from you" and he said it would be fine to get one and i could prolly get it for 15 bucks or so, (just incase) :P

and about your phototransister, what lilli did you have? im still hesitant to buy it and connect it since it is a transister and thus... would screw up my lilli if its a different model type

i was going to research that later

The unit is actually from a SUPER brand touchscreen (7" widescreen) from the research I have done, its basically a re branded lilliput unit. Also, all the research of the lilliputs I have done, they have all the same remote units inside. I dont think it would screw up your unit. but im no expert.

Do any research you like, i jsut thought rather than going out and spending 10 bucks at radio shack or something (or even more straight from lilli) this might be an inexpensive alternative. Let me know, im in no presure to sell.

Hey man,
I have an '05 STi and originally used the TMZ lilliput bezel that you're using. Mine didn't fit through the hole that the stock h/u used, but rather kinda sat behind it. Once you mount the touchscreen, put the bezel on over it and it works nicely. You can see a little bit of the metal edging around the edges, but it's pretty close. But there was never any sanding involved whatsoever.

That's how mine was.

I've since upgraded to the audiomotivegruppe bezel built with a xenarc which I like a LOT better. My lilliput had a terrible case of ghosting and eventually died a miserable death.

For comparison, here's a picture of the new bezel using the xenarc screen.

Hope this helps.

i did some more research on the screens, and i cant use your phototransister sidewalk, they arent compatible (super is a xenarc screen) so yeah... wont work

in other news, i made my cmputer case, mounted the computer in it, and wired vga/usb cord through the center console to under the passenger seat

im going to home depot now and getting a power distro block, 16 gauge wire (for speaker wires which will be wired to the back, as well as for the molex connector to the screen, im pretty sure those are 16 guage...) i also need a bigger fuse for my inline fuse... the one i ordered and the one i got were different... so yeah, i have a bunch for 30amp ago fuses if anyone needs them... and no 80 amp ones

the screen is in place, the wiring harness is just sitting behind it though so ill need to take that out in order to get to the speaker wires and stuff.

i have one question though, should i run the speaker wires and rca cables down one side of the car to the amp , then run the power to the other side of the car to the amp... im thinking i should because of interference i might get

Its a Xenarc...damn i wish it hadent fried then....Showes the value of good fuses...

As for the fuse.... you might be able to find one on sounddomain.com I believe thats where i got mine.

The wiring should be run on either side. Dont put the power with the audio, it will creat ugly interference.

it is running.... thats right, i got it to boot up almost perfectly... 1 slight problem w/ the opus but ill look into that later.

now, for how i did it... i woke up at 8 today and was wiring and setting up my car until 6 pm with a 30 minute break to eat

first, i connected a 5 gauge wire to the battery, which goes to an 100 AMP fuse connected to the fuse box w/ velcro (i need a picture of that, which i'll get soon)

next thing i did was wire the 5 gauge wire after the fuse through the firewall. i did this by getting a wire coathanger and straightening it out, (all those years of straightening out paperclips in class because of boredom paid off well) then poking a hole in the rubber seal of one of the firewall holes (where a bunch of wires come out). this actually was a complete pain in the *** becausei had to then get the coathanger wire to the battery (the hole went into a small part in the chassis which is completely enclosed to protect the wires), so i used my (very) small hands and stuck one in ther and felt around till i found it and pulled it out... then i thought the hard part was over.... but i was wrong again. after that i had to rewire the 5 gauge back through the cramped space and through the rubber stopper (the hole i made was literally about half a millimeter. it may have only took me 5 minutes todo that, but i used alot of energy and my hands were aching for about 30 minutes after doing it.

ok then i wired it inbetween the driver and back doors, and put the power distro block there, since the amp is going in the back... and the PC is in the front, it was the best place to put it without screwing anythign up.. both the wires form there are then fused, (amp wire: 60) (CarPC wire: 20) and run to thier place.

after that i just ran the wires from the center console down to the car PC, made the molex extention wire for my lilliput, and the ignition wire. then i had to mod the car PC case a little, to incorporate the wires that needed to get through to it... then i went to work on the seat...

now, my computer is in a lexan box which i made myself, its 1/2inch thick so it wont break and if it gets kicked by an idiot... it wont **** up... heres a pic where it sits:

now, this had one little drawback... one part of the seat came down too low and blocked the passenger seat from being able to go all the way back... i took the seat otu and looked at the piece and was puzzled about it for a good 15 minutes... i had no freakin idea what the thinig was there for... it was jsut a metal piece jetting out with 3 slots in it..

then i suddenly realized it was a motor mount, in case i wanted to make the seat motorized... which i had no intention of doing... and proceeded to cut it off, shaving a piece off which now causes no problems for me whatsoever.

modified seat:

now for pictures... they will be up soon, i have to eat ^^
